Don’t Get Into The Wrong Car!

Sorry, but this is the news of the day. Though, it’s a good example of what you should be careful of. Well, this is somewhat unexpected and a bit disturbing.

Last night, outside of Crimson, Paris Hilton hopped into someone else’s SUV where some unknown guy tried to approach to her, but the confused singer quickly got out of the car and ran to her own SUV.

That’s weird that she got into the wrong car. I’m glad nothing bad happened to her.

LOL this makes me laugh, even though it wasn’t smart and safe of Paris.

i think it’s obvious that both she and the security team were blinded by the paparazzi strobe lights from their cameras. she’s not even looking up. Also, it was the security team who pushed her into the wrong car. very dangerous….

And just where are the cops! the guy in the car was way over the line for trying to have a go at her. he should be arrested for sex assualt. I’m sure the cops would never help paris if they could avoid it, but what if this were some other girl who couldn’t get away from these guys in the car?

once again proving what a danger to public safety the paparrazzi have become.

Scary! I’m glad Paris got away okay. It’s easy for something like this to happen when you’re not expecting it and are trusting of other people.

Juju,
I agree with the other commentators here. It was just funny.

It’s hard to blame the paps for anything about this. Paris, Lindsay, and Spears, etc. still depend on the paps for a large part of their careers. Paris would not make $$$ from attending parties or events (she so often calls it work) if the paps didn’t cover it. The club owners and event organizers want her pic to show up in the mags and on the blogs entering and/or exiting a particular club or event. If she doesn’t like the paps, don’t accept the $$$ from the club or event. I suspect that these things lead to bigger deals, such as hosting New Year’s Eve parties. Most celebs also know to go to Robertson Blvd or Hyde, Opera etc, if you want to be seen by the paps. Conversely, many stars go elsewhere w/o having their pic taken.

Unfortunately, I think that you have to take the good with the bad. Sometimes they assist your career and give you exposure. Then, at other times, the paps can be a pain in the *&&^!! Sometimes these celebs actually call the paps to let them know where they will be to ensure that they’re pic’d. I’m not mentioning any names, although Paris, and/or her “people”, used to call them. She probably doesn’t (that often) anymore.

Also, they will often sell pics of their most private moments, or at least try to sell them (pregnancies, weddings, holiday photos, baby showers, dates, etc.), so it’s hard to feel much sympathy if they’re annoyed that they’re pic’d in public coming out of a club, or Starbucks, or at the beach, etc. I’ve heard that they also occasionally have business deals with some of the paps agencies for a cut of the $$$ from “candid” or “street” ( shopping, lunch) photos. Not only do they enjoy the attention and find it flattering, they also use the mass of cameras and attention as a signal to show how popular they are.

It didn’t seem like there was any harm here and most people just thought it was funny. Her posse and security were more to blame, if any blame needs to be placed at all.

Btw, just out of curiousity, I looked at the x17 video. She looked like she knew what she was doing and even apparently called one of the vehicle occupants by name “Mike.” She may have gotten into the wrong vehicle or it could be a guy that she knows and didn’t want him to kiss her in public. It just doesn’t seem like the paps should be blamed.

Me too.
Paris needs to have better security, period, because she is too high profile now.

heather,

you’re kidding, right? did you watch the same videos the rest of us watched?

I’ts very clear that there are several LARGE CAMERA SPOTLIGHTS BLINDING PARIS AND HER SECURITY TEAM. She clearly is shielding her eyes and looking down during the entire transit to the car. it is the security team who puts her in the car. period. That’s DANGEROUS!!!!!!!

With all your diatribe about stars paying paps, etc, you offer no proof that paris has actually done that (she has denied this in the past), muchless did it IN THIS INSTANCE!!!!

But even for the sake of argument that’s true, how do you figure that equates to it being okay for the paps to cause such threatening situations? So no rules from them, eh just because some stars work with them? Again, you’re kidding right? they can blind people, force them off the road, surround, harass, knock over, knock into, cause physical harm and property damage all to their hearts content, just because the people they are harassing are in the public eye?

Again, you’re kidding right? Why exactly do you think this is okay? Are you going to wait for another celebrity suffering grevious physical injury or death before you stop thinking the current paprrazzi behavior is just peachy? Seems to me “good with the bad” should have some limits in the interests of safety. Afterall, the paprazzi are not credentialed media, they are simply fortune hunters with abosolutely no control over who is in the wolfpack, which by the way includes criminals and illegal immigrants of all manner. Anybody who can use a digital point and shoot camera and wants to make a buck is free to join the hunt.

tell me again, how exactly you think this is safe and explained away as just part of the celebrity culture. i think it’s another clear case of why our privacy laws need to be updated to correspond with new technology.

Since you don’t care about the danger to celebrities, how will you feel when an innocent bystandder is hurt? or that okay too?

We’re just going to disagree on this one. Paris definitely uses the paps and even the uncredentialed paps. As to the video, you could be right. Just that she does sit in that suv for awhile w/o alarm though, even if she was blinded when she got in. She could’ve just been really inebriated as x17 said and it took her awhile to realize she was sitting on the lap of people that she didn’t know.

I don’t think Paris was drunk at all.
Bashers like TMZ and the losers who always write comments there would of course think that. They always assume the worst about everyone but themselves.
But most likely, Paris got confused by the lights. It can happen, what’s the big deal.

heather,

you’re right, we’ll always disagree. this is a fan site, but you seem to go out of your way to find fault, misinterpret or bash. You go completley off on a tangent or try and join completely unrelated issues just to be negative. whereas i prefer to go by facts and logic. if something is completely illogical, it’s usually false. you have to learn to look beyond what you’re being spoon fed and decipher motivation.

but alas, you’re usually so off base it’s actually amazing, i’m not sure if you’re just a troll or someone with an axe to grind.

oh, and if you actually watch the video, she is not drunk. she is trying to find her secuity and manager, that is who she’ s calling for, and the “look” has a bit of fear in it!

How about when Paris is getting into the first SUV & someone in background yells out, “Oh my god!” That person definitely seemed to be teasing her. Sounded very much like Paris. Remember the Princess & the Pee (& the AIDS from the puddle) video from last summer? Loves it.
