Below is a list of words or expressions that we sometimes use to describe people and things that are related to Paris Hilton. They are not listed in alphabetical order.
Fan | Mild Fans | Hardcore Fans | Haters | Semi-Haters | Hardcore Haters | Hate Site | Fake Site | Unreliable Site | Reliable Site | Unconfirmed Report | Confirmed Report | Breaking News! | BREAKING NEWS!
Fans are people who support Paris Hilton. Not everyone is a fan of her for the same reasons. There are many different types of fans who like her for various reasons, but all of them together support her. More specifically, there are two major types of Paris fans: mild fans and hardcore fans.
Mild fans make up most of Paris Hilton's fan base, possibly about 70%. These are fans who mainly support her because they are fascinated by her glamour, beauty, fame and money. Most fans who meet Paris during her public appearances are of these types. They aren't loyal fans and don't follow her every move. Neither are they reliable supporters, because they show no real interest in her work, but they simply like her as a celebrity and her products. Generally, they are good people who "mildly" support her almost all the time.
Hardcore fans are fans who closely follow Paris Hilton everyday. They are aware of who she is and what she does. They also keep themselves informed and learn every detail about her latest projects. They 100% support her, even though occasionally, they may criticize her in constructive and positive way. A large portion of hardcore fans are huge fans of Paris' music and movies. They are reliable and support her by always buying her products, watching her movies and listening to her music. It is estimated that hardcore fans make up about 25% of her fan base. The majority of ParisHiltonSite.net's return visitors are of these types.
Haters are people who hate Paris Hilton because she is an "IT" girl. The reason why they really hate her is because she is rich, famous and pretty. Certain fans believe that some haters don't like Paris because of some things she does and doesn't do. Haters are completely ignored by Paris, but they do affect her work and influence others. It is estimated that 80% of the US population who follow entertainment news, hate Paris, but the majority of them are semi-haters. There are two major types of Paris haters: semi-haters and hardcore haters.
Many semi-haters can be found in the news media. These are people who aren't haters, but have perhaps misunderstood Paris Hilton and have a tendency to always criticize her. A large portion of them know and recognize the real Paris. Even though a few of them have even interviewed her in the past, they still can't accept her. Similarly to mild fans, they are very fascinated by her and want to know everything about her (mostly about her private life). But they just don't want to like her. Occasionally, semi-haters heavily criticize Paris, but at the same time, they are willing to embrace Paris if she, sort of, "changes her ways." Semi-haters can be won over in the future, but they are still searching for real reasons to like and support Paris.
Hardcore haters can be found in the news media and on websites such as PerezHilton.com and TMZ.com. These are bad gossip readers and writers who seek the self-destruction of Paris Hilton, so to speak, for their own amusement. They are destroyers with no real substance or purpose. It is impossible to reason with them. Negativity is what feeds them and keeps them entertained and strong. They don't just attack Paris, but other celebrities, as well. For example, blogger Elaine "Lainey" Lui of Laineygossip.com, even though she isn't really a bad person in real life, is one of these types. She refuses to post any positive news about Paris, but likes to write absolutely disgusting and cruel posts about her. People like Lainey are praised and supported by the entertainment industry (and the general public). For hardcore haters, everything is good for a laugh, and nothing is taken too seriously. Of course, hardcore haters are also teenagers and young adults who simply do not like Paris because she is rich, pretty and famous. They are essentially the complete opposite of hardcore fans. While it is true that they are easily fooled by the media, they are all too well informed about the negative aspects of Paris. Finally, they are very ignorant and rude, very much like "Judge" Michael T. Sauer and "City Attorney" Rocky Delgadillo.
For example, TMZ.com, which used to a bit more pro-Paris, is now completely a Hate site, because they only post negative reports, and this is what keeps them successful in the entertainment industry. TMZ grew to become a successful website by digging and reporting the negative side of famous people. Dlisted.com, Laineygossip.com, Idontlikeyouinthatway.com and many other sites are what we call Hate sites, whether they are serious or joking for entertainment. They all strive on negativity to run successful websites. We also define a non-entertainment website as a Hate site if a writer publishes a hateful article about Paris on the website.
Fake site is usually also a Hate site. Most Hate sites get their gossips from Fake sites. Fake sites fabricate stories about Paris Hilton and other celebrities, and pass them on to other websites. A lot of Fake sites are run in the U.K. Dailystar.co.uk, Mirror.co.uk and PageSix.com are all Fake sites. They always invent stories about Paris. Some of their articles become so popular that even the news agencies such as the Associated Press, are fooled into reporting them.
An unreliable site is simply a news site that we can't rely on. If an article is from an unreliable site, it is classified as an "unconfirmed report". PageSix.com, a news site that always makes up lies about Paris Hilton, is occasionally an unreliable site.
A reliable site is a news site that can be trusted. Usually, the majority of reliable sites are the Associated Press, CNN.com, CBSnews.com, etc. However, even reliable sites are sometimes fooled by Fake sites and feel obliged to report a fake article without any verification.
Unconfirmed report means that the news or information posted, is waiting to be confirmed by a reliable site.
Confirmed report means that the news or information posted, has been verified through a reliable source and turned out to be correct.
The term "Breaking News!" is not necessarily used in the same way that the news media uses it. A "Breaking News!" can be any piece of information that we consider very important for fans to know. But not every "Breaking News!" post is regarded as important by all fans. We, ParisHiltonSite.net, decide what is a "Breaking News!" and what isn't.
"BREAKING NEWS!" in capital letters means that the news reported is extremely important.
