Not clear if Cy Wait was fired from his position

It was recently reported by E! Online that Cy Wait, Paris Hilton’s boyfriend, was fired as owner of Wynn and Encore’s nightclubs. It is said that Steve Wynn, owner of Wynn, Encore and numerous other Vegas hotels fired him. Apparently, an insider said: “Wynn has a zero-tolerance policy with their club execs when it comes to brushes with the law.”

However, acccording to Las Vegas Sun, this may not be true. The news site reports that the Wynn Las Vegas spokeswoman Jennifer Dunne said that “the company was not prepared to comment on Waits’ position with the company.” But when the time comes, they will issue a statement.

E! also reported that Rick and Kathy Hilton are “flipping out” with Cy Wait.

In the meantime, Paris is upset and continues to deny that the harmful substance belongs to her, says her longtime friend Michael Boychuck.

It’s kind of late, but in these turbulent times, I have to wish everyone a happy Paris Hilton Day. August 29th is the day.

How Paris Hilton got arrested

Believe it or not, today’s events turned out to be the most popular story on CNN.com, according to CNN’s NewsPulse, even surpassing the story about the popular political rally held by talk show host Glenn Beck most of the time.

In the afternoon, a press conference was issued by the Las Vegas Metro Police, and Sgt. John Sheahan had this to say: “While waiting in police custody, she extracted a tube of lip balm from her purse. At that time a plastic packet of a substance believed to be cocaine fell from her purse, directly in view of Metro officers.”

For more information, watch this news coverage below.

Earlier, a source told RadarOnline.com (which is not necessarily always a reliable news site): “The search of Paris and arrest was all captured on tape, which could help her tremendously. Her lawyer David Chesnoff is going to claim it was an illegal search, in part because she was taken away from the scene to this other location. Chesnoff will also be able to take apart every single thing that happened during the search and arrest because he’ll have the video to work off of. Furthermore, Paris repeatedly said while she was being detained that the purse wasn’t hers. Chesnoff is going to get the tape and use it to bolster his contention that the search was illegal.”

Also, the woman who interviewed Paris hours before she got arrested for alleged drug possession had to this say: “She was fantastic! Very agreeable, very warm. She was very candid. When the limo took her back to Waits’, she was asked if she wanted the limo to wait for her. But Hilton said, ‘No, my boyfriend will be driving us tonight. I am wishing she had taken the limo.”

Las Vegas journalist Robin Leach reported that Michael Boychuck, who has worked for Paris for 18 years, said: “She just doesn’t get involved with that kind of stuff. It’s totally out of character if you know her as well as I do. She’s already said it wasn’t hers, and that’s good enough for me. Stars get their things stolen from them when they’re mobbed in crowds. You have no idea what they get subjected to and how many things vanish and get swapped out for their own items when fans do crazy things to get souvenirs or cause problems out of jealousy.”

“If you’d spent the time with her that we all did yesterday evening in my salon, you would realize there’s no way she’s using drugs or drinking. Paris is completely healthy and well and very happy. She doesn’t need anything else!” he added.

Attorney: Paris Hilton was illegally searched

Paris Hilton was released this morning on her own recognizance. This matter will be dealt with in the courts not in the media and I encourage people not to rush to judgment until all of the facts have been dealt with in a court of law. There will be no interviews and no more comments at this time.” – Paris Hilton’s attorney, David Chernoff

Reported by RadarOnline.com

Friday night’s arrest of Paris Hilton on suspicion of cocaine possession may have been a law-breaker in itself, a source close to the heiress tells RadarOnline.com exclusively.

Las Vegas PD officers pulled over a black Cadillac Escalade in front of the Wynn Las Vegas Friday night because they suspected pot was being smoked in the vehicle. The driver was Paris’s nightclub mogul boyfriend Cy Waits, who was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

But Paris was not searched on the scene, the source tells RadarOnline.com exclusively, and that’s where the case against Hilton may start to unravel.

Paris was taken into the security offices at the Wynn and searched there, the source says. “Cops discovered the cocaine inside the security offices where Paris was taken. Because Paris was taken away from the scene where the car was pulled over, this could potentially be an illegal search of a person.

“Las Vegas Metro didn’t follow standard procedures when Paris was arrested and her lawyer will be talking to the D.A. about this.”

Paris is also insisting that the cocaine found in the purse wasn’t hers — because the purse itself wasn’t hers!

“Paris says she changed the purse she was carrying at the last minute last night because the one she had didn’t coordinate with the rest of her outfit the way she wanted. She says she borrowed a friend’s purse because it matched better.”

The implication, of course, is that the cocaine belonged to Paris’ friend and so she shouldn’t be charged for it.

Paris’ high-powered Vegas attorney David Chesnoff plans on talking to the Las Vegas D.A. Monday morning and lay out his case, mainly that there is no basis to charge his client because, the amount of cocaine was, “negligible, the purse it was found in wasn’t hers, and Paris was illegally searched,” the insider says.

Vegas Metro is issuing a press release on the bust later Saturday.

Paris Hilton released from jail after being accused of drug possession

Reported by the Associated Press

Paris Hilton was arrested on the Las Vegas Strip late Friday after police saw a cloud of what they suspected was marijuana smoke wafting from the windows of a black Cadillac Escalade driven by her boyfriend, then found a small amount of cocaine in her possession.

A crowd quickly gathered near the stop on Las Vegas Boulevard near the Wynn Las Vegas resort at shortly before midnight Friday, and Hilton was taken into the hotel “to keep her safe” during the initial investigation, police Lt. Wayne Holman said.

The 29-year-old socialite and Las Vegas nightclub mogul Cy Waits were booked into the Clark County jail, police said. Hilton was released early Saturday morning without bail.

Officer Marcus Martin said police found that Hilton had a substance that tests later showed to be cocaine, but he did not say how much of the drug was found. She was arrested on a felony cocaine possession charge.

If convicted of the low-grade felony, Hilton would get probation, but any violation would be punishable by one to four years in jail.

Clark County District Attorney David Roger declined to comment Saturday.

Hilton’s attorney, David Chesnoff, told The Associated Press on Saturday morning that he was still gathering facts about the arrest.

“But I caution people not to rush to judgment,” he said.

Hilton’s manager did not immediately respond early Saturday to telephone calls for comment. Her publicist, Dawn Miller, did not immediately return an e-mail message.

Jail records showed that Waits, 34, remained held pending a court appearance on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Hilton’s court date was not immediately available.

Waits and his twin brother, Jesse, are managing partners of the Tryst Nightclub inside Wynn Las Vegas, Drai’s after hours club at Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon, and XS The Nightclub at Wynn’s Encore resort.

Wynn Resorts officials did not immediately respond to messages early Saturday.

Hilton hadn’t commented on the arrest publicly, although she appeared to be tweeting. After her arrest, she told fans she was in bed watching the television show “Family Guy” and then she announced she was going to bed. It was unclear if the tweets were coming from her, being sent out on time release or being sent by someone else.

Paris Hilton would’ve liked to be a nursery school teacher

Paris Hilton recently told Absolute Now magazine:

“I have basically done everything but if I wasn’t in the position I am in now I would love to be a nursery school teacher because I love kids.”

“I would love to be a veterinarian because I love animals. That would be a dream for me.”
