    “Pledge This!” lawsuit settled

Reported by the Canadian Associated Press

Lawyers for Paris Hilton and investors have settled a lawsuit in Miami that claimed she didn’t do enough to promote her 2006 movie “Pledge This!”

Court papers filed late Thursday indicate a settlement was reached last week. No terms were announced and final documents must be filed by Nov. 11. Hilton’s spokeswoman and an attorney for the investors had no immediate comment Friday.

The investors originally sued the 29-year-old actress and celebrity socialite for $8.3 million. But after a trial, a federal judge ruled they could not collect that much. Earlier this year, the judge said Hilton could be liable for about $160,000.

Hilton insisted in trial testimony that she did all she could to promote “Pledge This!”

Paris Hilton spending some time with Cy Waits and his daughter

Paris Hilton recently told E! News: “One of the things I love about Cy is what an amazing father he is. I’ve become really close with his daughter,” referring to 7-year-old daughter, Shae.

“She is an animal lover, just like me. We love going to the pet store together to play with all the animals. We do fun girly things like getting our hair and nails done together. She’s beautiful, blonde and full of personality,” she said.

Paris also told Radar Online: “I absolutely love this little girl, she is so adorable and precious! I have a new BFF… and we spend time with Shae, who is seven-years-old, every weekend in Las Vegas. We spend time together as a family, Cy takes us out to the movies and we take Shae to school on Monday mornings. We are in Las Vegas every weekend to spend time with her.”

“Shae is so smart and we love spending time together. We go shopping, I take her to the pet store and to the arcade. We take her to the Circus Circus amusement park. We do normal things,” she added.

Paris Hilton’s clothing collection goes virtual!

    Press Release

Mentez, the world’s leading publisher and developer of social games on Orkut and Virtual Greats, the world’s leading virtual goods and sales distribution agency, have announced a partnership to bring celebrity and brand-inspired virtual goods for sale within the Mentez roster of games. The initial deployment will be built around global fashionista, singer, actress, and business woman Paris Hilton and will include a line of clothing and jewelry. Forthcoming virtual assets will be developed around IP from Virtual Greats’ secured portfolio of clothing brands, sports leagues, cartoon characters and celebrities.

The growth of virtual goods in general and branded virtual goods in specific has proved to be a global phenomenon. Well known ‘western’ brands have strong appeal in South America and this partnership pushes the boundaries again by offering branded content to a non-US user population. With Mentez’s 22 million weekly active users and Brazil’s growing population of internet users and booming economy, the stage has been set for cross-over success.

“We see vast potential for our celebrity, brand, and clothing company clients beyond the traditional US market” said Brett Orlanski, Director of Platform Management at Virtual Greats. “Mentez has a dominant position on Orkut and a deep roster of compelling, well suited games that matches our brands. We are excited to branch out beyond our own borders and bring our content to an untapped market.”

“I have the best fans all over the world. I love Brazil and I could not be more excited to share my style with my Brazilian friends!” said Paris Hilton.
