HairTech hit with a lawsuit from another hair company

Reported by the Hollywood Reporter / Edited by PHS

A company called Celebrity Signatures Int’l specializes in selling hair extensions that allow women to look like famous people. On its website, Hair U Wear, the company offers looks ranging from Jessica Simpson to the latest coiffures on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

Hairstyle knock-offs, right? Actually, Celebrity Signatures has filed patent applications on its “alternative hair” accessories. So when another hair extension company, HairTech Int’l, began marketing similar looks, Celebrity Signature sued claiming its competitor was selling a knock-offs of its, um, patented knock-off.

That’s where Paris Hilton enters the picture.

In a complaint filed Monday in federal court in Missouri, Celebrity Signatures alleges that HairTech is infringing its patents, including clip-in hair extensions branded “Clipin-Go by Paris Hilton” and “Dream Catchers.”

According to HairTech’s website, the company signed a deal with Hilton in 2007 to be the face of its “Dream Catchers” hair extension line.

Candidate Don Chairez attacks prosecutor David Roger by using Paris Hilton in a new ad

Reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal / Edited by PHS

In the first negative television ad in the Clark County district attorney race, candidate Don Chairez suggests his opponent, incumbent David Roger, last week gave Paris Hilton a “sweetheart deal” in her recent speedy conviction on felony cocaine charges.

The quid pro quo Chairez alleges involves a $10,000 campaign contribution Hilton attorney David Chesnoff made to Roger’s campaign.

In this video (below), one of many regarding Chairez’s campaign posted on YouTube, the challenger makes it very easy for viewers to pick up what he’s putting down. It’s all very entertaining, of course, but other than the stunning speed in which Hilton’s case was adjudicated — 24 days from her arrest on the Strip Aug. 27 to her guilty plea and sentencing on Sept. 20 — there’s nothing in the way the socialite was treated that’s too far beyond the pale for any first-time drug offender.

Significantly, Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Joseph Bonaventure told Hilton she would spend a year in the Clark County jail if she gets in any trouble other than traffic tickets over the next 12 months.

The new launch of Paris Hilton Handbags and Accessories is a huge success in Asia!

Sharon from “I Want Gorgeous Things” was kind enough to share with us her comments on the successful launch of Paris Hilton’s Handbags and Accessories at Kuala Lumpur Pavilion in Malaysia. Visit the official blog and check out the pictures!

“We were all really sad that Paris was unable to make it to KL (especially Paris), alot of people had come along way to see her.

The show was fantastic!!!! Even though Paris was unable to make it, there was alot of press present and a huge crowd of fans had gathered to watch the fashion show. The models were absoutely ‘Gorgeous’ and the handbags and new fragrance ‘Tease’ were to die for. After the show the ‘Paris Hilton’ store located in the ‘Pavilion’ mall was packed with eager customers buying up all of the handbags, some of the styles selling out! The team at Miwaki are the loveliest bunch of people and the ‘I Want Gorgeous Things’ team are always so welcomed by them. Thank you so much to all the team, especially Carol, Evelyn and Eileen xo

Michael Friis, the CEO for Re-Touch brands still flew in from Tokyo to assist with the show and talk with press even though he was unable bring Paris with him. He said ’Paris’ was deeply upset that she was unable to make it and see all her fans in Malaysia and that she will visit in the very near future.

Michael then flew on to Indonesia after the show for the ‘Grand Opening’ of another ‘Paris Hilton Handbags and Accessores’ store in Jakarta.”

The online Australian shopping site for Paris Hilton’s Handbags and Accessories will be opening soon at “I Want Gorgeous Things.”

Adrian Grenier’s latest friendly comments on Paris Hilton

When asked about Paris Hilton and her thoughts on the “Teenage Paparazzo” documentary, Adrian Grenier said:

“She really breaks down the concepts being discussed. She saw it and her response was quote-unquote “dope” … She was very generous to invite me into her world and share her experiences. I rather like Paris. She’s a cool girl who, dare I say it, is an artist and her art form is the tabloid.”

Teenage Paparazzo airs tonight at 9/8c.

Making something clear about “That’s Hot”

Now that news about Paris Hilton’s victory over the Hallmark lawsuit is spreading, some people in the hateful media are questioning whether Paris Hilton has the right to sue anyone who uses the term “That’s Hot.”

It’s a misleading question asked by haters who have no idea what they talk about, as usual. Paris trademarked the phrase in 2007, so this means a person could face legal problems only if he or she is selling a product or service that uses the term “That’s Hot” in conjunction with Paris’ image.
