Maker of Paris Hilton’s Celebrity Styler wants $5.3 million

    Reported by CourtHouseNews.com

The maker of a hair-straightening brush bearing Paris Hilton’s name wants $5.3 million after it says it was unfairly banned from selling 12,500 of its products.

Stitch N’ Genius says it created the Rolling Styler, and hammered out a deal with Hairtech International to sell the devices bearing Hilton’s likeness.

Hairtech, however, sold the products for less than the agreed-upon $40 apiece, then manipulated Stitch N’ Genius into shipping the rotating curling iron-and-brush gadgets to Los Angeles at its own cost, according to the complaint in Superior Court.

Stitch N’ Genius says a container of 12,500 of the brushes was delivered on credit, but Hairtech failed to pick them up at the port of Los Angeles, knowing that they would be auctioned off if Stitch N’ Genius didn’t agree to pay for them.

The delay caused Stitch N’ Genius to lose out on potential buyers, and left it stuck with the unsold products, the lawsuit states.

Stitch N’ Genius says it then indicated that it would sell the products itself, but defendants demanded that the company could not sell the product because it carried the Paris Hilton’s name.

Stitch N’ Genius wants $5.3 million in compensatory damages, and a court order allowing it to sell the Rolling Styler.

Stitch N’ Genius is represented by Christopher Brainard.

    Reported by Life & Style

Onetime party girl Paris Hilton is making the ultimate New Year’s resolution: to settle down with her beau of nearly a year, Doug Reinhardt. “We’ve been together a year now and never spend a night apart,” Paris told Life & Style’s Kevin Dickson in an exclusive interview on Dec. 28. “He’s truly become my best friend. He makes me feel like a princess every day.”

In fact, Paris reveals, she’s ready to feel like the ultimate princess — by walking down the aisle as a blushing bride. “I wouldn’t rule out a wedding in 2010,” she says. “With how amazing everything is going between us, I see a very bright and happy future.”

Doug, 25, is already lavishing Paris with attention — and gifts galore. “Doug and I have shared so many amazing and special moments,” Paris gushes. “One of the best things was when he rented out an entire island for us in Fiji. It was romantic, private
and relaxing — the best vacation of my life.”

Casey Johnson, longtime friend of Paris Hilton, passes away

Paris Hilton’s childhood friend, Casey Johnson, heiress of the Johnson & Johnson empire, passed away. Casey was supposed to play the role of Nicole Richie in the Simple Life, but she turned down Paris Hilton’s invitation and then said that it was “the stupidest mistake of [her] life” to have rejected it.

Paris Hilton told Life & Style magazine: “I am devastated to hear this news. I’ve known Casey since I was a baby. She had a big heart and she was a good friend. I feel so sad, I don’t want to believe it. My condolences go out to her family and loved ones.”
