Paris Hilton boosts up CathayGems.com’s sales

Posted on ecommwire.com / Edited by PHS

CathayGems.com announced today their second quarter’s pearls sales have doubled, especially for the black pearl necklace. The reason? Thanks to Paris Hilton!

Paris Hilton recently went on a pearl shopping spree, dropping $130,000 on a strand of gorgeous black Tahitian pearls. Celebrities and pearls are a common pairing, as many of the Hollywood elite favor pearls even over diamonds for an ultra feminine look.

Paris’ love for pearls is well known – her on again, off again flame Doug Reinhardt gave her a pearl necklace and a five star Fiji holiday recently – but these Tahitian beauties kick it up a notch even for the queen of starlets.

There’s no denying that black pearls add a layer of sensuous mystery to any celebrity’s look. Celebrities from every film genre strut in pearls n the red carpet – Demi, Angelina, Katherine Heigl and Drew Barrymore are just a few of the big name actresses who wear pearls to nearly every event.

“Pearls are the ultimate in female beauty and power,” says Lan Toma, spokesperson for CathayGems, a wholesaler for cultured pearls and pearl jewelry. “We have got quite a few customers calling in and inquiring to have a black pearl necklace custom made that looks just like Paris Hilton’s, some asked for Tahitian pearls, others asked for cultured freshwater pearls, and also people were asking for large south sea shell pearls for less than $50, with the same stunning look.”

Gripping Eyewear President speaks up about Paris Hilton

Written by VegasDeluxe.com / Edited by PHS

Paris Hilton has carefully crafted an image loved by her fans and headlined by the media, but she works it to keep an ever-growing spotlight on her less spotlighted business empire and interests. When she launched her debut line of sunglasses here last week, crowds waiting for her autograph and photo in the Sands Convention Center at The Venetian stretched hundreds of yards, snaking through rival booths at the Vision Wear exhibits.

When she modeled the new line of unique sunglasses with its patented magnetics that the competition can’t copy until 2018, she combined it with a runway display of her fashions and accessories lines. Simultaneously, the Hard Rock Hotel fashion show poolside also was a subtle way to promote her Siren line of fragrances.

Just to give you an idea of her conglomerate’s earning power, the fragrance line alone is a $200 million-plus business for Paris. The sunglass products feature 12 designs in three colors each. Working with Gripping Eyewear designers and President Jimmy Jongebloed, she was committed to the project for a year.

“This was all her — hands on. Not just licensing her name. She sketched out each one herself and developed each design personally,” Jimmy told me. “We’ve solved the problem of forever losing sunglasses by adding a unique magnetic patent to the frames so they clip onto a jacket or a sun visor by themselves. They will be incredibly successful. Another multimillion-dollar business for the tycoonette!”

Paris added her personal decorative touches, too: a tiara, a heart, a crown, a little doggie and other icons that immediately make one think of Paris. The glasses, which will be in department stores beginning in March, will sell for $100.

“I love the look. I love what we have created, ” Paris told me. “I’ve been wearing — and losing — sunglasses since I was a little girl. I must have thousands at home. For me, it’s all about the look, be they expensive or just $10. But from now on, when we start distributing these, they will be all I need!”

Tomorrow, [VegasDeluxe.com’s Robin Leach will] have [his] one-on-one candid chat with Paris about her new TV plans and continuing singing career. She’s slowly changing her image from flirty, fun-loving party girl to a more serious side that reflects her tycoonette status.

Fearne Cotton praises Paris Hilton for working hard

Written by DigitalSpy.com / Edited by PHS

Fearne Cotton has praised Paris Hilton for being hard-working.

Cotton, who is working with Paris as part of her Fearne And… series, admitted that she didn’t expect the star to be so industrious.

“We started filming the show a few months ago and I was immediately struck by how hard-working she is,” The People quotes Cotton as saying.

“Filming with her is such hard work – she doesn’t stop. She made me feel lazy. I have to admit, I was quite astounded. She just gets on with it, which is so different to how I thought she’d be.”

Cotton added that Paris does not deserve her negative reputation.

“I really like her,” she said. “She gets a hard time from people who think she is just a silly, spoilt girl but she is exactly the opposite.

“We worked very hard together, she is nice. She isn’t at all mean or bitchy and she came across as genuinely sweet and wanting to please.”

“Some people get bad reputations and she is one of them but it’s not fair. I realise that obviously that could have all been for the cameras but I think it’s nice to have some polite and well-mannered stars out there.”

Cotton recently revealed that she did poledancing with Paris during filming for the show.

Advertising agency: Paris Hilton worth more than Britney Spears

Written by Trak.in / Edited by PHS

Paris Hilton is a better choice than Britney Spears for some advertising agents, when it comes to promoting one of their products.

According to reports, Britney, who will be in Australia in November as part of her world tour, is seen as only worth about 60,000 dollars to spruik products.

“Britney is inconsistent,” the Daily Telegraph quoted Jack Singleton, chairman of advertising agency Jack Watts Currie, whose clients include The Discovery Channel and Malaysian Airlines, as saying.

“We would not be sure what we would be getting with her. Would it be fat Britney or mad Britney?” Singleton added.

Singleton is the same person who helped bring Paris Hilton to Australia at an estimated cost of 500,000 dollars for beer label Bondi Blonde.

As regards Paris’ value, Singleton says that she is always “in character”.

“It doesn’t really matter that she has done […] as long as she is the right image for the brand,” Singleton said.

Supernatural series creator Eric Kripke comments on Paris Hilton

    Quotes are from EW.com

Supernatural series creator Eric Kripke recently said:

I don’t think we’re gassing up the motorcycle to jump the shark yet.

Paris plays a monster who takes the form of Paris Hilton… It’s a fun, irreverent episode about modern celebrity. [Fans] should withhold judgment until they see it.

There was no pressure form the studio or network to do any stunt casting. We had our wish list in the room of who would be the best spokesperson for a satirical monologue on modern celebrity and Paris Hilton was at the top of the list. We never expected in a million years that she would do it, but I spoke to her and she got the joke immediately and signed on quickly.

I give her a lot of credit for being a hell of a good sport. The fact that she was game to play the part speaks volumes about her sense of humor.
