Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend attracts 428,000 viewers

According to unofficial figures, Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend attracted 428,000 viewers on ITV2.

Brand Republic reported that “the 9pm slot was won by BBC One’s ‘Hustle, which had 5m viewers and a 20.8% share of the audience.”

American Idol, which earnt 449,000 viewers, was shown before the premiere of Paris Hilton’s new reality show on the same channel!

Hate site Daily Mail UK published an article about the ratings with the title “Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend show bombs despite wall-to-wall publicity.” Well, then, I guess American Idol’s episode bombed, too!

400,000 – 600,000 viewers seems to be the average number of viewers for channel ITV2. When the new series of American Idol debuted in mid-January, it attracted 551,000 viewers. The premiere of the show Supernatural pulled in 509 000 viewers. The first episode of drama show Bionic had ITV2’s largest audience, 2.2 million viewers.

Maybe, like the American version, word of mouth will eventually attract more viewers to Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend.

Extended Repo! soundtrack won’t be released until Valentine’s Day

For the first time, I actually went on the Repo! chatroom today (Wednesday night), since it was announced that the director of Repo!, Darren Bousman (and actor Terrence), was going to reveal exciting news about the movie. The chatroom was at full capacity!

The Repo! message boards are down and won’t be up until Saturday. If you’re a Repo! fan and missed the chat session, I saved the complete chat log from the moment when Darren started chatting until he left. You can check it out here. There’s nothing specific about Paris Hilton or Amber Sweet, in case that’s what you’re looking for.

Well, first, the bad news: The Repo! soundtrack 2 (or the extended soundtrack), which includes an extended version of Paris Hilton’s Happiness is Not a Warm Scalpel, won’t released until around Valentine’s Day. But the good news is that more orders had to be made because more stores want it!

How many songs will be on the new soundtrack? The director said approximatively 40 songs!

The biggest news was his announcement of the Repo! road show, which is similar to the Repo! road tour, except it will be run by fans, starting with 10 cities. Fans will be able to put together a Repo! road show. He talked in detail about this new event.

In one month, a new member-only section will open on Repo!’s official site, but it will be pay site (about $25 per year). The section will be frequently updated and will include lyrics, behind the scenes pictures, unreleased songs and even deleted scenes!

Repo! is doing very well on DVD in terms of sales. He revealed that 188,000 DVD copies of Repo! were made and that about 40% of them were sold within a week.

He would like to do a Repo! 2, but it will depend on how well it does on DVD. The problem is that the movie did very poorly in theaters. The budget of the movie was $8.5 million. He remarked: “If the DVD and Blu-Ray sales hit or get close to the the film’s budget and break even, is the sequel greenlit for sure?” But he insisted that he is determined to keep the Repo! community alive and growing!

Quotes by Paris Hilton in UK interviews

While promoting Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend, Paris Hilton was interviewed by the UK media.

About contestants: “When I was shooting the show I had a boyfriend. There were a lot of straight people who tried out but [Benji] didn’t really believe they wanted to be my best friend, he thought they wanted to be more so we didn’t allow any straight boys. Maybe next season.”

Being friends with singer Amy Winehouse: “I love her music but I don’t know if I could handle that lifestyle,” she said, explaining that “there’s a lot of advantages to being my best friend because I’m a lot of fun, I travel the world, I have a great time, especially when I come to London.”

Doing a dating show: “I’ve been offered to do one of those dating shows and I don’t like that idea, I thought it would be much better to find a friend rather than a lover. That’s actually how I come up with the concept of the show.”
