Will California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger Help Paris Hilton?

A petition is circulating that begs California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon Paris Hilton.

TMZ placed several calls this morning to the Guv’s office. The first person we spoke with said there were “rumblings” about the petition in the office, but he wouldn’t be more specific.

We then spoke with someone else who said she’d get back to us. We then asked if that meant the Governor had Paris plans. She giggled and said, “maybe.”

    We love Kalieforneeya!!!

BUT WAIT! Just as we were about to publish the article (finger literally on the button), TMZ got a callback from the Guv’s Press Secretary, Aaron McLear, who said that Arnold’s office is prepared to give Hilton a fair shake! McLear told TMZ the office is prepared to treat Hilton’s request “no differently than any other request filed to the Governor’s office.” McLear added the Governor only acts in “extraordinary circumstances.” We asked if Paris qualified — all we got was a laugh.

So far, they haven’t received the petition, asking people to “sihn” (sic) in support of Paris.

While word of Paris’ pardon has made its way throughout cyberspace and all over mainstream news, McLear said that he’s not sure if Schwarzenegger himself is aware of Paris’ plight, but he did admit that Arnold’s “staff members certainly are.”

Paris Hilton Attends Robert Shapiro’s Sober USA Party

Last night may have been a time for reconciliation for the Hilton family, but it was also a night for remembrance, as the Hilton sisters set off for Paramount Studios to attend Robert Shapiro’s Sober USA party, a benefit for the Brent Shapiro Foundation for Drug Awareness. Of course, Paris’ date for the night was freshly-rehired manager Elliot Mintz, who showed up early at the Hilton estate presumably in a further effort to make nice with his most famous client. Nicky and David Katzenberg arrived a little later in typically silent fashion.

From there, it was off to the studio lot to attend the party, where one of our insiders shot some video of Paris bending Shapiro’s ear. Paris and Shapiro’s son Brent went way back before Brent’s tragic death from an overdose in 2005, so Paris’ appearance at the party probably wasn’t as socially motivated as usual. Still – given her high-profile troubles with the law, we can’t help but wonder if Paris might have been pressing the former Dream Teamer for legal advice!

    Christian Groups Gone NUTS

Paris Hilton’s 45-day jail sentence is to be celebrated next month by a right-wing Christian group disgusted by the socialite’s role model status.

Hilton learned her fate on Friday for driving with a suspended license and violating a probation order, and will begin her sentence on June 5th at a California correctional facility.

The strict sentence came as a shock to many in Hollywood but Mark Dice, founder of The Resistance, is jubilant the hotel heiress will be locked up.

He plans to mark the occasion by trashing her CDs and books at Hilton hotels around America, and urges young fans to join him.

He tells the New York Daily News, “We’re going to be throwing them in huge trash cans and getting them off the face of the Earth.”

“The kinds of role models that have come to light recently in America are horrible role models.”

“(Hilton is an) extremely materialistic, uneducated (person who) rose to prominence because of a homemade sex video. Now we have all these young, preteen and teenage girls who really look up to her.”

Dice has scheduled his protest at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on June 5th.

Who thought that Christians would go crazy like this? Have these Christians become even more narrow-minded? Do they really think we’re fans of her homemade tape? Or her CD!!!

    Kathy Hilton Backs Her Daughter

The Hilton who made the most noise in and out of court last week wasn’t named Paris.

Kathy Hilton, mother of the notorious party girl, became a media magnet herself at her daughter’s probation-violation hearing Friday. She laughed when a city prosecutor argued that Paris deserved jail time. When a judge ordered the 26-year-old Paris to serve 45 days in county jail, Kathy Hilton blurted out: “May I have your autograph?”

She also shared her feelings with reporters outside: “This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with all this nonsense. This is a joke.”

While her media exposure doesn’t rival that of her famous daughter, Hilton is no stranger to the spotlight.

She was a guest star on “Happy Days” in 1977 and appeared on “The Rockford Files” in 1978. She hosted a program on QVC and starred in her own NBC reality show in 2005, “I Want to Be a Hilton,” in which contestants competed for a chance to live like a socialite for a year.

Accompanying Paris to court made Kathy Hilton a public face again. She came as a concerned parent, said Dorian Traube, a professor of social work at the University of Southern California.

“Anytime your kids stumble, you question yourself as a parent,” she said. “She has one daughter that’s done really well and another that keeps stumbling in the public eye. For a family that’s very prominent, it’s probably quite humiliating.”

It’s common for families to come and show support in high-profile court cases, Traube said, but Hilton’s outspoken behavior is a little unusual.

“Kathy Hilton acted as if her daughter was a minor in the way she had to give a statement,” Traube said. “Not only is she enabling Paris’ behavior, she’s perpetuating it.”

Kathy Hilton’s spokeswoman did not return calls for comment.

Hilton was 19 when she gave birth to Paris in 1981, just two years after marrying Rick Hilton, a real-estate developer and an heir to the Hilton Hotel fortune. The couple have another daughter, Nicky, and two teenage sons, Barron and Conrad.

She has publicly defended Paris before, calling her “vulnerable.”

“She’s eccentric, she’s herself and she never hurts anybody,” she told the London newspaper The Guardian in December 2005. “It upsets me that she gets taken advantage of, but I think we’ve all learned to deal with it.”

    Schwarzenegger’s Spokesman Speaks Out

    Developing News

The many moods of Paris Hilton shifted again when the jail-bound socialite rehired the publicist she blamed for her 45-day sentence.

Mintz, 62, wouldn‘t elaborate on why he reunited with Hilton. The publicist, whose clients have included John Lennon and Bob Dylan , issued a statement Sunday night that he and Hilton had parted ways over an apparent “misunderstanding she received from me regarding the terms of her probation.”

Hilton — star of reality TV show “The Simple Life” on the E! network — has called the sentence unfair, and her fans have posted a petition on the Internet urging Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon her.

A Schwarzenegger spokesman told The Associated Press it was “premature” for the governor to get involved.

“We‘ll treat this as we would any other case of this nature, but it would be premature for the governor to get involved until the individual has exhausted his or her judicial remedies,” McLear said.

“If the late former President Gerald Ford could find it in his heart to pardon the late former President Richard Nixon after his mistake(s), we undeniably support Paris Hilton being pardoned for her honest mistake as well, and we hope and expect the governor will understand and grant this unusual but important request in good faith to Ms. Paris Whitney Hilton,” the petition says.

The latest installment of “The Simple Life,” which throws Hilton and pal Nicole Richie , 25, into everyday situations, premieres May 28 on E! After famously feuding and filming their parts separately last season, the celebutantes reunite as camp counselors for the show‘s fifth installment.

Petition has reached more than 3000 signatures.

Paris Hilton Does Some More Shopping

Paris spent what might be her last days of freedom shopping on Sunset Plaza and consorting with lesser reality stars at Pinkberry! Dressed all in white (a subtle hint at her innocence?), Paris first hit up the Virgin Megastore where she picked up a couple of Gwen Stefani dolls. Is she stocking up on valuable items to trade for a carton of ciggies or a shiv at Century Regional Detention Facility?

Then she hit Catherine Malandrino at the Sunset Plaza before stopping by the place that launched the current fro-yo craze (which Paris helped publicize, btw), Pinkberry!

Paris ran into D-Listers Janice Dickinson and Bobby Trendy at Pinkberry, both who had plenty to say (on-camera, of course) on the subject of Paris! Janice was seen whispering something in Paris’ ear before chastising the paparazzi to leave Paris alone while simultaneously angling for some camera time of her own. Bobby Trendy predicted that she wouldn’t even go to jail, at least not for more than an hour, like Zsa Zsa Gabor or “that girl from Grey’s Anatomy.” Did he mean Michelle Rodriguez from Lost?

Paris looked very solemn the entire day, and when she went back home, we asked her if she planned to appeal the judge’s decision but she didn’t answer. Chin up, Paris – even if we can’t help cracking a few jokes, we’re all pulling for you!

ParisHiltonSite.Net Predicts A Worth Of Popularity And Hating

It is Tuesday, May 8, 2007, 1:16pm Eastern Time.

ParisHiltonSite.Net now predicts the popularity of Paris Hilton will grow dramatically in over three months.

With Paris Hilton’s fame growing even stronger, the hatred against her will also explode.

Last night and this morning, ParisHiltonSite.Net noticed that the jail news had already reached a new peak.

Paris Hilton is on the lips of everyone in Hollywood and in the rest of the world. This effect has become even stronger than last February’s ParisExposed phenomenon. We also expect to see a lot more news about Paris in the coming days and months.

Paris is also the subject of ridicule on satire websites, and generating a huge amount of traffic on the internet overall.

The media has finally heard the fans’ voice. And just within 12 hours, the petition, approved by Paris Hilton, herself, has jumped from 600 to 2700 signatures. It is expected to grow much faster as the media bombards articles about it on the internet. The fans are fighting for a just and fair punishement.
