Simple Life 5 Features Sally Kirkland

Things are going to get a bit racy on the new season of “The Simple Life.”

TMZ has learned that an upcoming episode of the Paris & Nicole “reality” show features actress/fashionista Sally Kirkland playing the socialites’ Camp Shawnee acting coach (not that they need any help in the drama department!), and was made to look like Nicole’s father, Lionel Richie — in full on blackface and an afro! Hello!

Sources tell TMZ it was Nicole who somehow talked Kirkland into donning the controversial getup after the two got into a shouting match when Nicole wouldn’t perform Shakespeare. To drive, or not to drive! TMZ spies say the taping was simultaneously “frightening and hysterically funny.” Much like the paparazzi pals themselves!

A rep for “The Simple Life” had no comment. “The Simple Life Goes to Camp” premieres May 28 on E!

    Heartbroken Paris Hilton Speaks Out

Paris answered an X17 photographer today when asked about her feelings regarding the verdict — “I told the truth yesterday. I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwarranted …”

She met up with her parents for lunch, presumably to discuss her legal options and whether to proceed with an appeal against the 45-day jail sentence she received for driving on a suspended license.

Paris met with her parents Rick and Kathy at the Italian eatery Prego in Beverly Hills and then she and her mother went down the block to Francis Orr stationers so Paris could pick up some cards, gift bags and gift wrap. Needless to say, they were surrounded by paparazzi.

    Check out the scene …

    *******8*Check out CELEBRITY STAR POWER

I wrote and e-mailed this letter to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger of California about 30 minutes ago:
    May 5, 2007

To: The Honorable Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
    State Capitol Building
    Sacramento, CA 95814

    Dear Governor Schwarzenegger:

Let me first begin by saying that I grew up as a child enjoying all of your wonderful films. You really are the truly great action hero for our time. You are doing a great job in the great state of California.

I would like to bring a matter to your attention that you may or may not already be aware of due to the excessive media coverage this matter has received recently:

Paris Whitney Hilton is 26 year old American celebrity and socialite. She is an heiress to a share of the Hilton Hotel fortune, as well as to the real estate fortune of her father Richard Hilton. She provides hope for young people all over the U.S. and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives. Hilton is notable for her leading roles on the FOX reality series The Simple Life and in the remake of the Vincent Price horror classic “House of Wax”. In addition to her work as an actress, she has achieved some recognition as a model, celebrity spokesperson, singer, and writer.

As most of America now knows, Ms. Hilton was just charged in a Los Angeles court with DUI and sentenced to 45 days in Century Regional Detention Facility in California beginning on or before June 5, 2007.

We, the American public who support Paris, are shocked, dismayed and appalled by how Paris has been the person to be used as an example that Drunk Driving is wrong. I do not support drunk driving or condone a person being spared from DUI charges. Paris should have been sober. But she shouldn’t go to jail, either. As depicted on Friday night’s episode “Nancy Grace” on Headline News (May 4, 2007), countless celebrities have been “slapped on the wrist” for similar incidents recently. Nick Nolte, Mel Gibson, Tracy Morgan, Wynonna Judd, to name a few, were arrested and never did a day in jail after their initial arrests for drunk driving /DUI /DWI charges. Rappers Busta Rhymes and Eve still walk free after both being arrested for the same charges as Ms. Hilton just this past week.

Singer/actress Brandy Norwood’s California Highway accident, although no proof of DUI was evidenced in her accident, resulted in the death of a young wife and mother in California, yet Brandy walks free as of today, never doing any time and a woman is now dead possibly due to her reckless driving.

Yet, Paris Hilton did not hurt, injure, or kill anyone or anything, and yet she must do jail time.

This letter, with all due respect to you, sir, is to ask you to please consider granting a pardon to Paris Hilton for her mistake, or at the very least to advocate for a pardon to be given to Ms. Hilton. Please allow her to her return to her career and life. Everyone makes mistakes. She didn’t hurt or kill anyone, and she has learned her lesson. She is sincere, apologetic, and full of regret for her actions as she explained tearfully to the Judge handling her case in court yesterday. She is distraught and understandably afraid to enter the prison system.

Please save Paris from ending up at the Century Regional Detention Facility in California.

I urge you to think about the welfare of this young woman who will be placed into a facility with murderers, rapists, people who have committed assault, battery, larceny, etc. Paris has made a mortal error and deserves a second chance like so many others in our great nation have been served with after a mistake they have made. In my humble opinion, if the late Former President Gerald Ford could find it in his heart to pardon the late Former President Richard Nixon after his mistake(s), we as compassionate human beings can undeniably support Paris Hilton being pardoned for her honest mistake as well.

I hope and expect that you will understand and please consider granting this unusual but important request in good faith to Ms. Paris Whitney Hilton.

Paris Hilton was sentenced this afternoon in a Los Angeles court to 45 days in jail, with her jail term beginning on June 5th, for a DUI charge she was arrested for last year in 2006. This is the most unfortunate and sad news. Tracy Morgan (of 30 Rock on NBC) was just sentenced to wear a SCRAM (alcohol monitoring device) ankle bracelet after recently having his day in court for his drunk driving charge. Why has the government of California used the lovely Ms. Hilton as an example this way? What a travesty this is. I send my heartfelt and sincere regret for this unfortunate circumstance to the entire Hilton family.

It is reported that both Kathy and Rick Hilton accompanied Paris to her scheduled court appearance this afternoon in L.A. They were said to both be distraught by the outcome. Paris was said to be on the verge of tears and very apologetic to the Judge and the Court for what she had done.

    Paris doesn’t deserve this.

I want to start a petition…Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger should have helped her out with a pardon or a warning or something. Or the Court could have even sentenced her to wear the same type of Alcohol Monitoring Device that Tracy Morgan has been sentenced to wear.

Paris needs to know she has the support of her fans to get through this.

While all the tabloid sites are making light of this by making cliched “jailbird” jokes about what Paris is about to endure, I choose do otherwise. Jail is not fun for anyone, not even for an hour (well at least for most people jail is not fun) . People make mistakes and deserve a second chance.

Grinning Media Reporters Agree: Paris Hilton Was Used For Harsh Sentence

    Paris Hilton Tricked?

Paris Hilton and family didn’t expect the worse case scenario.

Now let’s look at how the tyrant media is treating the news.

Apparently, there were many other options the judge could’ve given her without having to go to jail. That’s what Paris, her lawyer and her parents were expecting. This judge, however, decided to use Paris Hilton’s fame and status to show other celebrities that you can’t disobey the law. Her lawyer was right, according to the media. It was deliberate.

Paris was clearly used on purpose because the judge could’ve given her a less harsh punishment.

I think if her lawyer could come up with something in order to prevent her from going to jail.

So I’ve been sampling the news… Almost every commentator has a grin on his or her face. Some of them are even laughing on camera, and talk in a happy way.

It’s the same old story. They call her partygirl and heiress, and not singer, actress or anything related to work. There’s no balance between these words.

But they all agree that the verdict was too harsh. And this won’t change her celebrity status. Hopefully, the appeal will work. I’m sure her lawyer is going to come up with something smart…

Here are couple of videos. I might post more later on.

    Wow! What a woman!

    Update: Paris Hilton Is Devastated

Paris Hilton isn’t even in jail yet, but she already feels like a prisoner.

A source close to the embattled hotel heiress tells me that Hilton will most likely sequester herself for the weekend inside her West Hollywood home or her nearby family estate.

“There are helicopters everywhere and paparazzi,” the source says. “Paris was up all night. She doesn’t want to eat. She goes from crying to being furious.”

Meanwhile, she is surrounding herself with a few close friends and family members, including sister Nicky Hilton and Nicky’s beau, David Katzenberg, according to my source.

And guess who also came by Hilton’s house last night? I’m told her ex-boyfriend, Greek gazillionaire Stavros Niarchos.

It’s still unclear if Hilton has spoken to or seen her most recent maybe-boyfriend, Desperate Housewives hunk Josh Henderson, since she was sentenced yesterday to 45 days in jail.

My source says that the Hilton clan had planned on spending the weekend in Malibu, but that idea may have been shelved, because they worry about a caravan of media following them.

EOnline Explains Everything From Jail Time To Simple Life 5

    Important Read

Paris Hilton is going to jail. The 26-year-old heiress appeared shocked as she was sentenced to a 45-day stint behind bars Friday for driving with a suspended license and other probation violations. The hotel-chain namesake will call the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California, her temporary home, starting June 5. There will be no house-arrest options, no monitoring-bracelet breaks—she will do 45 days straight, per the judge.Following the sentence, according to reports, the blindsided Hilton could be heard telling supporters, “I don’t know what happened. I did what they said.”Addressing the court, Hilton apologized, and said she never would have gotten behind the wheel if she had known she wasn’t supposed to, per E! News, which was inside the Los Angeles courtroom.

“I’m very sorry, and from now on I’m going to pay complete attention to everything. I’m sorry, and I did not do it on purpose at all.”

Hilton also told Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer she was trying to take more responsibility for her life. This, after Hilton essentially laid the blame for her troubles on longtime publicist Elliot Mintz, whom she said told her the license was only suspended for 30 days, through last December, while it had actually been suspended into March.

Mintz himself took the stand during the hearing—his testimony largely consisting of variations of “I don’t know” and “I don’t remember.” Afterward, he declined to comment.

Clad in somber black and gray, her long blond locks prim and proper under the steadying influence of a hairband, Hilton showed up about 15 minutes late to her 1:30 p.m. court hearing in Los Angeles.

The red carpet fixture made the no-carpet scene via a black Cadillac Escalade, which, notably, considering her legal situation, she did not drive. She was accompanied by a posse befitting a judgment day: her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton.

Inside the courtroom, Kathy Hilton, once a reality star like her daughter, couldn’t help but show her displeasure. She derisively laughed when a prosecutor called for jail time for her eldest child, according to E! News, and she appeared to mouth “This is a joke” when the sentence was handed down.

After the hearing, Paris Hilton departed without speaking to reporters. Hilton attorney Howard Weitzman vowed an appeal. And Kathy Hilton popped off.

“What do you think?” Kathy Hilton asked an inquiring reporter. “This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with all this nonsense. This is a joke.”

Weitzman didn’t disagree. “To sentence Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail to me was uncalled for, inappropriate, and bordered on the ludicrous,” the attorney said. “It was clear that she’s been selectively targeted in my opinion to be prosecuted because of who she is.”

But a spokesperson for the city attorney quickly shot down that allegation, saying the sentence “sends a clear message that in the city of Los Angeles, no one is above the law.”

If Hilton was in no apparent hurry to get to court, she had good reason: L.A. city prosecutors were waiting for her. In court papers filed earlier this week, they cited repeated missteps on Hilton’s part, dating back to a driving-under-the-influence arrest last September, and called for jail time. (Hilton shrugged off that original DUI arrest, telling E! News’ Ryan Seacrest the whole thing amounted to “nothing.” “I was just really hungry, and I wanted to have an In-N-Out burger,” she said at the time.)

The incident that apparently spurred on prosecutors occurred Jan. 22, when Hilton was cited for speeding in her Bentley, a violation of her no-contest plea deal to a reduced charge of alcohol-related reckless driving, and for driving with a suspended license. Hilton’s claim that she didn’t know the license was suspended—by the California Department of Motor Vehicles last November—was countered by prosecutors who said California Highway Patrol officers personally informed Hilton of the error of her ways during a previous traffic stop on Jan. 15 and had Hilton sign a statement acknowedging as much. Sauer called the document the prosecution’s “smoking gun.”

Hilton’s résumé of miscues also included, per prosecutors, driving at night without her Bentley’s headlights on, driving during the day without her Bentley’s plates on, and failing to enroll in a court-mandated alcohol-education program.

In court, Hilton’s camp said the heiress was taking care of the education requirement, having begun taking classes last month. (Prosecutors said she was supposed to have enrolled by mid-February.) Per Hilton’s side, the TV star had trouble finding a program that would take her because of her fame.

At Century Regional Detention Facility, Hilton will follow in the footsteps of ex-Lost star Michelle Rodriguez, who served about 27 minutes there in 2006 for probation violations stemming from a DUI conviction. (Rodriguez was released early due to jail overcrowding.) Daryl Hannah was also briefly detained after being arrested during a protest last year.

General visiting hours are 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Dinners are said to be hot, temperature-wise; breakfasts are said to be early (before 8 a.m.); cells are said to be small (12 feet by 8 feet); late-night clubbing is not recommended, nor allowed, actually.

Hilton’s summertime jail run will not interfere with the upcoming season of her and Nicole Richie’s prime-time vehicle, The Simple Life, which has aired on E! since 2006. (E! Online and E! Entertainment are divisions of E! Networks.) Production on the show’s fifth season wrapped in April. Hilton will even be free to catch the premiere, scheduled for May 28.Since its 2003 debut, The Simple Life has exposed Hilton and Richie to a variety of life and work experiences, including jail. In a second-season episode from 2004, the friends took jobs at a sheriff’s station in Texas.

While Hilton prepares to move into a jail, Richie has her own court calendar to mind. She’s facing a misdemeanor driving-under-the-influence charge. A court hearing in the Richie case is scheduled for next Friday.
