Confusion Over Paris Hilton’s Court Appearance

A Los Angeles judge ordered Paris Hilton to clear her calendar on May 4 and show up in court, where she may face jail time for a probation violation charge.

The city attorney’s office said last month that Hilton had been driving with a suspended license when she was pulled over Feb. 27—a big no-no for the Simple Lifer who is on probation for alcohol-induced reckless driving.

Hilton could face up to 90 days behind bars if she’s found in violation.

The celebutante was not present Tuesday during a closed-door tête-à-tête among Judge Michael T. Sauer, Deputy City Attorney Dan Jeffries and her legal crew. Following the conference, Sauer announced that Hilton would be required in court in three weeks.

Jeffries told reporters that he expects Sauer to “hear the matter that day,” and Hilton attorney Howard Weitzman hinted that the matter is getting close to resolution. But another of Hilton’s lawyers, Shawn Chapman Holley, seemed less certain.

“We don’t know if it will be a hearing or not,” he said of the pending court date.

Whatever it is, the two sides will be discussing the February incident in which the 26-year-old Hilton was pulled over by L.A.’s finest after allegedly speeding down Sunset Boulevard with the headlights of her 2007 Bentley Continental GTC Convertible turned off.

Hilton, who was alone in the car at the time, was ticketed her for the driving indiscretion. Officers then realized that her license was suspended, impounded her $190,000 ride and referred her case to the city attorney.

Hilton publicist Elliot Mintz claimed she was unaware of the specific term of her probation that prohibited her from driving. But that was challenged by city attorney spokesman Nick Velasquez.

“We are confident that we have sufficient evidence to prove that her license was suspended and that she had knowledge of it at the time,” he told E! Online last month.

Velasquez indicated the suspension was part of the sentence Hilton received Jan. 22 for her no contest plea to a Sept. 7 reckless-driving count. She was also placed on 36 months’ probation, fined nearly $1,500 and ordered to attend an alcohol-education course.

Judge Orders Paris Hilton To Court

    Paris Hilton's DUI Arrest

Paris Hilton was ordered Tuesday to appear in court May 4 for allegedly violating her probation in a reckless driving case by driving on a suspended license.

City prosecutors are seeking to revoke her probation on grounds that she violated its terms, which could result in a sentence of up to 90 days in jail.

The hotel heiress and TV personality was not present for Tuesday’s hearing, which was conducted almost entirely with lawyers at the bench speaking privately with the judge.

At one point, however, Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer was heard saying that the allegation was driving on a suspended license. He then commented to the lawyers, “I find that a violation.”

The judge later announced that the matter would be postponed to May 4 and Hilton was ordered to appear.

Outside court, Hilton attorney Howard Weitzman was asked whether the matter was close to being resolved.

“It is,” he said without elaboration.

Asked what will happen on May 4, he said, “I expect to be here.”

The prosecutor did not comment to reporters.

In January, Hilton pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood and was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 (€1,100) in fines.

She was then pulled over on Sunset Boulevard on Feb. 28 for allegedly speeding with her car’s headlights off and was ticketed for misdemeanor driving with a suspended license.

Hilton’s spokesman Elliot Mintz said at the time that she was not aware her license was suspended.

It hasn’t been solved yet. Paris will have to defend herself on May 4. Did she know her licence was suspended while she was driving? Perhaps, they should do a lie detector test on her!

Britney Spears Blames Paris Hilton For Her Problems

Paris Hilton and Britney SpearsBritney Spears is blaming Paris Hilton for hurling her into the anti-panty, head-shaving downward spiral which landed her in rehab … and now she wants someone to pay!

According to Page Six, Britney is enraged with her manager Larry Rudolph for introducing her to “nemesis” Hilton last November — and reportedly gave him the axe for it last week. But as of this morning, TMZ has confirmed that Rudolph has not been been fired … yet.

As TMZ first reported, Paris thought of herself as a role model for Spears, and even claimed that Britney was “grateful to be under Paris’ wing.” But shortly after the alliance had been formed, the lovefest crashed hard and the two haven’t partied together since.

    TMZ

I’m sorry to say, but I wouldn’t blame Britney Spears’ problems on Larry Rudolph or Paris Hilton. The problem is Britney, herself. She wasn’t able to draw the line of limit, like Paris does. Where’s the balance between partying and working?

It’s easy to blame on others, but she’s old enough to think.

Anyway, I wouldn’t take this report too seriously. It’s probably a bit made up. I wouldn’t trust Page Six too much.

But I have to say, Paris + Britney = Rocked

Paris Hilton’s Visit To Swiss City

Paris Hilton landed in the Swiss city of Basel and told fans: “I am delighted to be here, it’s my first time in Zurich.”

She was in the Swiss city to promote her new line of watches at the Baselworld watch and jewellery fair.

Her watches cost between £45 and £100, but Paris admitted she prefers watches by Rolex and Frank Muller and will not be wearing her own designs.

She had been in Zurich earlier during her trip and went to a new club owned by her ex-lover Carl Hirschmann, ending up with a £50 fine after her driver parked the car in a no-parking zone.

Paris And Nicole: “That’s Sexy” Is Our New Catch Phrase

In case you haven’t heard, the girls are following in the footsteps of our dear friend Ernest and communing with nature in The Simple Life Goes to Camp, which premieres Memorial Day (May 28). So, I sat down with the girls—and, of course, Tinkerbell (who was wearing a better outfit than me)—to get the goods on what it was like to shoot the new season. And since a sit-down with these girls is about as easy to score as tickets to the moon, you just know I had to share it with you!

“[Shooting the show] is so much more fun when you’re with your friend,” Paris said, referring to her rekindled BFF-ness with Nicole. The two are once again side by side for the show’s new season, in which they hit, among others, beauty pageant camp, relationship camp and wellness camp. So, see? We can all just get along!

Tuesday, We Will Know If Paris Will Go To Jail

Paris Hilton Will Go To Jail?

Watch out for Tuesday’s verdict. It will be a big day with a big announcement. We are excepting a news release from the Associated Press right after the court ends and the verdict is confirmed.

However, I highly doubt Paris will be sentenced to jail just because the media is pushing for it. The media is already reporting false information in anticipation. The British media has always been #1 at reporting false rumours. You should read their latest report.

Remember the judge needs to be convinced that Paris didn’t know her licence was suspended while she was driving after her DUI arrest. Also, keep in mind that no prosecutor bothered reporting to a judge that she was driving with a suspended licence until they caught her driving with no headlights.
