Paris Hilton expected to attend the launch of her new store at Grand Indonesia Mall this Saturday

Reported by the Jakarta Globe

It’s not just idle gossip — socialite Paris Hilton is coming to Jakarta to attend the official grand opening of her namesake store at Grand Indonesia Mall on Saturday.

Today she left a message on the micro-blogging Web site Twitter: “On my way to Asia to debut my Fall/Winter collections. So excited to see all my fans. First stop – Tokyo :).”

In order to deal with the anticipated flood of fans and curiosity seekers, the mall’s management has prepared special security measures.

“Of course the security will be extra tight, but the main challenge is anticipating the fans’ behavior. Most of Paris Hilton’s fans are teenagers and women who are more difficult to handle,” Senior Marketing Communications Manager Teges Soraya told news portal Kompas.com.

“Our main concern is the teenage fans. They are liable to push and shove one another,” she said. The hotel heiress is also expected to join the models on the catwalk for her latest collection show.

“We will deploy dozens of security officers at strategic points. Paris will walk from Grand Indonesia’s East Mall to her store at the West Mall,” Teges said.

According to Teges, Paris has not made any “diva demands” for her stay in Jakarta. “There’s nothing special,” she said.
