Paris Hilton threatens and blocks “Paris, Not France” documentary

Paris Hilton

Sadly, we most likely won’t see the much-anticipated documentary “Paris, Not France”. Paris Hilton has went as far as blocking all screenings of the documentary at Toronto International Film Festival, except one. It will only be shown once on September 9th.

It seems that Paris is so unhappy about it that her lawyers have threatened lawsuits.

The saddest part is that the people who will go and watch the documentary on September 9th won’t even bother telling us what it’s all about. I don’t know any Paris fans who live in Toronto from this site.

“Paris, Not France” is probably the only interesting and truly accurate documentary about Paris Hilton, unless if there’s something else. Now I wonder why the Hilton team is so against it? It only makes you want to see it! Maybe, the documentary goes too far in revealing too much about her.

Are you serious?!
Fucking hell, I was actually looking forward to this more than Repo!
Hmph, This must be a very true movie about Paris. Probably showing stuff she doesnt want us to see. I dont get it though. The film maker spent a YEAR with her so Paris must have known it wasnt going to be all lovely and such. It was going to be honest.

If Paris doesn’t want it to be released, there has to be something wrong with it. I will accept Paris’ judgment no matter what.

kevin,

i agree with you. just becasue the film maker spent a year with paris doesn’t mean it’s accurate much less an honest portrayal. who knows what happened, maybe after gaining access the film maker decided she could make more money by deliberately portraying paris in a negative and distorted manner. it has happened before. people always use paris.

i’m curious why it would be shown even once then if paris is truly “blocking” it. seems to me that would be an all of nothing thing, especially if legal action has been initiated because once it’s hown to a public audience even once, then, well, it’s out there….

i agree w/kevin and juju. if paris doesnt want us to see it, then i dont really want to either. i respect that she doesnt want us to know too much about her. i have my own thoughts and ideas about her, and sometimes its nice for paris to have a mystique about her.

This is certainly an unpleasant turn! I wonder about Paris’s reasons, but as a supporter who believes in her, it makes me suspicious of the documentary and think that Paris must have a good reason for it. She may not always make the best decisions (I have my concerns about BFF but could be wrong), being human like the rest of us, but I don’t think she’d react this way in what might seem like a ruthless action without her own good reason or doubts.

I was looking forward to a documentary that would show the Paris that the fans know and love and as a smart and good natured person who’s accomplished much for herself, but maybe that wasn’t the documentary’s intent.

The source article certainly isn’t unbiased. Little attacks on Paris like “whatever it is she does” and the little dig about her not being human (and links to other articles from the site like “Paris Hilton still appearing in films”). I don’t trust anything from hater sites and so place no stock in this story anyway until there’s a reputable unbiased source or Paris addresses the issue herself. I’m sorry I gave yet another hater site or article another one of the hits they’re so desperate for.

Django,

This story is 100% accurate. If you go to the official site, they’ve already removed all screening, except the one I mentioned.

Oh and Enkil, I love the picture you used. “Paris” listening party for execs?

An alternate reason for why Paris is forcing the cancellation of some screenings (and leaving just one):

Maybe not the best idea but it does show that just because the screenings are being cancelled doesn’t mean that the hater article is true or 100% accurate.

This is an unauthorized biography, made by Tom Petty’s daughter.
Hell if the girl wants to do something interesting, why doesn’t she make a docu about her own family.
No doubt there are enough skeletons in the Petty closet.

django,

godd article, but since some of the source quotes in that article originated in page 6, then I suspect the accuracy….

i guess we’ll see as this unfolds whenre paris attends or supports any showing.

Kevin,

Yes, yes! I love it, too! It’s a photo still from her documentary. We also have it on the DVD!

juju, you’re right about Page 6 of course and that made me wary too. But that story seemed to make a bit more sense as to what was happening and Paris’s reasons for the action, so I figured it was still a good way of showing how the initial reports could be inaccurate as to what was really happening. I wouldn’t normally give any credibility to Page 6 either.
