I’m so excited about this news!

Loved the first season and I hope the second season will show us more of Paris’s life, on top of it being a bff contest.

I feel a bit bad but I’m rapidly loosing interest in Paris’ current activities. I think her sunglasses line is genius, that was a good one. The creativity set? Thats obviously just tapping into the hell-zone that is known as the ‘tween market’ to make some quick cash. Shit like that I expect from Hannah Montanna but Paris? Not so much. A second season of My BFF? Yer, great show but this is just going to make everyone start talking about why would she need another season if she has Brittany? Which will then cause a flurry of rumors which will lead to Paris’ comments such as ‘We’re still great friends, I love her but you can never have too many bffs!’ or something which people will just roll their eyes at.

When Repo! was released, I thought this was a whole new chance for Paris to redeem herself. As much as the critics hated Repo! it has a shit load of fans who all thought her performance was amazing and most of the kids from that crowd were anti-Paris so there was this huge chance for her to connect with some new fans and to make her image better. My BFF, yes, it was a good show but seriously guys none of us expected it to be. Even us, her huge fans expected it to be a dud. It wasnt, it actually prooved to be decent but still, was it necessary? With a whole new crowd keen on Paris and having good things to say about her singing wasnt it a prime chance for her to release an album? or a proper single?

I understand Paris is a buisness woman but I just think its all been a bit messy in the recent months.

I personally think it should have gone, well think it should go..

Nov – Repo! released
Dec – Fairy Dust released, new single released
Jan – Appearences promoting her new single, Showing support for the Repo! DVD release
Feb – Released second album, release second single
Mar – Announce sunglasses, new clothing line and Paris store in the works
Apr – Release third single (maybe the final single), announce new show line and release more information about Paris store.

As lame as my little timeline is, I just think something like that makes more sense then a creativity set and a new season of My BFF. While they’re fun are they really necessary? Are they going to help anyone take her seriously? A (soon to be) 28 year old releasing something for 8-12 year olds? I thought Paris’ market was teenagers and young adults.

About the creativity collection. Maybe Paris wants to teach young girls some style. After all she looks hot in almost everything she wears an I don’t think that’s easy to do.

‘anonymous’ Paris has an adult style, she is a lot more chic these days and if shes going to be handing out fashion tips, it should be to 16-20 year olds. Not 10 year olds.

Hi other anonymous, the more anonymous’ the better, but I agree with Scot on this one.

I am not sure that she had much choice though. She may simply not have been able to release an album without a major label behind it. Her recording it at her house told me that while convenient, there was also a cost savings necessity about it, meaning no label support for big producers or recording studios. That also rules out lots of promotion w/o major label support. Oh well, maybe BFF 2 will be great.

also Scot I’m pretty sure that most of her fanbase is teens and younger I think that’s fine. I haven’t met anyone personally that’s in college or older that likes her. I think enkil’s in college and I know some posters are that age so she definitely has some that old. I’ve just never known anyone from my friends, my parents to cousins to teachers to college friends that will admit that they’re a fan of hers. She is approaching 30 I’m not sure how long she can do things like BFF and club appearances so it’d be nice if she did things like an album. if anyone ever gave her a chance she might be good in a sitcom. She is fun and has good timing.

scot I just skim the article about that creativity collection I didn’t realize it was for 10 years olds. Is it?

Actually, I’m glad that Paris is doing another season of My BFF. I don’t think she’s only doing it to find a new BFF, but also, to “push her brand,” as she puts it. More exposure, the better! And why not? It was a successful and fun show. Not a lot of people talked about it, but they watched it.

People ask why she needs a reality show to find a BFF, but keep in mind that it’s mainly for entertainment. I’m not a big of it (I know people who liked it more than I did), but as long as it’s successful, she’ll continue to make them. I sort of agree, it’s not like a unique *Paris* type of project that makes you excited, a la Repo! or Paris, the album.

About Repo! Well, guys, I still listen to the songs. I don’t think people realize how amazing the movie is. I still get drawn to it every day. You know, it was a great project for Paris, but I have a feeling that most people (including average Paris fans) didn’t get it. Sure, it has its own “cult” fan base, but I think they mostly consist of people who like rock/gothic stuff. I personally like the whole rock/gothic thing to some extent. But Paris should keep an eye on the Repo! project, because that fan base can grow enough to produce a trilogy of Repo! films.

As for the second album, I guess she’s still searching for a record label. She also needs to launch her music career properly with stage performances, which is still a challenge.

Her fanbase probably consists of people of every age. Running this website has made me realize that she attracts a lot of 13-16 year olds (teenagers).

In college, I’ve noticed that most students aren’t into the whole Hollywood celebrity scene. They’re probably more interested in her products. I haven’t met any *hardcore* celebrity fans at my age.

I’m probably an exception. Honestly, I’m not into celebrities, either, but Paris Hilton is the only big exception. There’s something very unique and special about her!

I agree with you enkil.

Hopefully BFF 2 will be a success. I don’t think most people think she does it to find a friend. It’s just a weird concept for someone approaching 30. I remember you posting the ratings here and it was about 1.2 million people a week. That’s not alot in the scheme of things. Do you think that’s enough to “expand the brand?” Maybe she should do a bachelorette type show isntead of a friend show? That would probably bring in more people.

have you heard of her getting closer to finding a record label? That would help.

The first few episodes were doing good, but then, the number of viewers quickly declined until the finale, which did very well, attracting 1.8 million viewers. I think it was good enough for MTV to do another season.

I think she said she didn’t want to do a dating game show, but it would definitely bring in more people! I don’t know if she’s getting close to finding a record label. I haven’t heard anything about it.

i think paris is making a smart business move to reach out to the tweens. the money in that market is outrageous! and it’s a “harmless” product as compared to what else is out for that market. it’s fun, it will sell and has no relationship to the perceived negative things about her (ie partying) that tween parents would shy away from in choosing things for their kids. and can improve her image in time for this market to mautreinto buying her other more adult-oriented products.

also, i don’t get it, but the whole scrap-booking thing has quite alucrative cult following.and it introduces her to a new up & coming market that were probably too young to watch simple life when it was first on.

she certainly has a great range with products targeted to each demographic. and just look at us on this fan site, we all have differnt favorite products or talents.

and i was an early critic of the BFF show as i said before mainly because i didn’t trust MTV not to chump her, but it actaully turned out pretty good, probably the best done by MTV and i liked the show. and doing another show doesn’t mean brittany is out, that’s just silly. we all have more than one friend for cripe sake.

so yeah, i want to have a new album, to see Repo! and more modeling work. i’d like to see her back on the high end runway where the most money and prestige are, but mainly she’s done a lot of print ads. so i’m at least happy for that.

as long as she’s focues and acheiving professionally and not being silly about her personal life, she can break away from the nasty tabloid junk. afterall, she’s only a few years away from “aging-out” of the tabloid crap about guys, partying and salacious topics.

nothing silences a critic like good old fashioned success!

and her success is in her professional life, that’s why i gripe about her saying and doing silly things with regard to her personal life that become the lead in any media or tabloid coverage of her. while a mix of that may keep her interesting to the media, i think sometimes it’s too much.

oh, and I still like sex! I think that’s my new signature anthem.

Paris has her own label, so she can release an album whenever.

But Paris has stated repeatedly that she sees herself as a business woman, so why would it be a surprise that she moves her businesses along.

You may not realize it but the scrapbooking market is a HUGE business and her kits will probably do very well.

I also never thought that she wants to limit herself to just singing or acting.

She mentioned in HEAT MAGAZINE that she also paints and has been offered an exhibition.

The people who buy her stuff are not just teens but adults, and the grandmothers who love her.

She is a worldwide brand and my guess is that she will keep on doing whatever it takes to promote her brand. Who can blame her.

funny line Juju. That would probably make a great rock anthem power ballad or r & b song audition on American Idol.

Can you tell me what the distincition is for “print work?” I think I’ve seen you mention it b/f but I don’t really know the different types of modeling work. Obviously, runway work=fashion shows, but what is print work? I remember the pizza boy got offered “ONLY print work” and I had no idea what that meant exactly or what the hierarchy, pay scales are in modeling. Is it that big a deal in prestige? Is the equivalent of a reality show vs an oscar award winning movie or is it really a much smaller difference? Thanks.

Paris has her own label but I think it’s a vanity label. She can release an album anytime, but so could you or I. The issue was whether it would gain any traction and that means promotion and distribution, which major label support. She can try and do other promotion through myspace and the Paris for President thing, but those are still fairly minor, especially if one doesn’t do live shows. Also, hers is/was a sub label of Warner I believe. If Warner got behind her, then that would’ve helped a lot.

It does not matter.

My point is that Paris Inc will do whatever is the most profitable at the time.
That’s how all businesses operate.
Why is this so hard to understand?

I don’t believe Paris sees herself as an “artiste”.
She is a BUSINESS and more power to her.

From: anonymous
Time: January 24, 2009, 11:25 am

No one is saying that she’s an “artiste” She has stated that she’s a businesswoman. She’s also stated that she did a second album and she’s looking for a label. She’s already released some songs. I think some of us want to hear the whole album so we want to know the progress including if she can find a major label to release it, which would help get it to market and increase its sales.

I like some of her products like the perfumes. Others not so much. That will probably be the case for everyone as she licenses her name to more and more products. Nothing wrong with that

I agree anonymous that she can’t please everyone all the time. I like some of her movies but would watch others once merely because she is in them. I preferred The Simple Life to BFF. I loved her first album but am greatly disinterested in the snippets I’ve heard from her new music. If I’m not excited about the latest project, I just hope that I’m either proved wrong or that the next one after that will capture that Paris appeal that hooked me in the first place.

print media is still photos for print media ads like magazines, billboards, etc., as prestigious as the product being sold to be sure, but the real elite, high end in modeling is the live runway for the high end labels. this is where the most money is.

and that makes sense, because the runway is the foundation of modeling andof course high-end couture. it’s a live, relatively quick performance to portray the garments in the very best light in very little time to sell and awe a very discerning audience of the fashion industry also showing the artisitic qualities and fahion point of view of the designer.

with runway it’s a one shot deal. with print, photos can be endlessly redone or touched up to get the perfect photo for a print ad, so yeah it’s second tier for modeling.

and I still love sex!
