Pledge This! lawsuit delayed for a month

The Miami trial of a lawsuit accusing Paris Hilton of failing to adequately promote her 2006 movie “Pledge This!” has been delayed for a month.

The trial was to begin Monday but has now been postponed until July 9 by U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno.

The lawsuit claims Hilton didn’t fulfill her contract to promote the film. The movie detailed a fictional South Beach sorority that was a box-office dud. Movie investors claim losses of over $8 million because of Hilton’s inaction.

Hilton’s attorneys claim she worked hard to promote “Pledge This!” and owes nothing. In fact, they claim Hilton should get a $125,000 bonus because the move was released in theaters. Hilton was paid $1 million to act in the lead role.
