Scrap “Paris for President” as a first single?

I don’t think the new music “Paris for President” has kicked off well as Paris Hilton’s new debut single for her upcoming new album. Well, we don’t know if it’s supposed to be the debut single. But maybe it’s time to move on from the “Paris for President” parody?

Does anyone want “Paris for President” to be the debut song? I also don’t believe that the new album will be released this month. Plus, she hasn’t done any promotion, yet.

So now that we’ve heard many unreleased songs from her second album, which one of them would have wanted to be the true debut single?

1. Platinum Blonde
2. Crave
3. Girl Tax
4. Jailhouse Baby
5. Paris for President

I would’ve picked Platinum Blonde! Girl Tax would’ve also been a good one.

Platinum Blonde for sure.
I’m not exactly sure it would do well in the US but in the UK and Australia I think it would be really quite successful.

Girl Tax could be alright too but along with Crave they just dont have enough parisy-oomph haha. Jailhouse Baby needs to just stay and as a CD track because its really quite personal and just a message to the fans I think.

Paris for President.. well everyone has taken it as part of her fake campaigne so I honestly dont think it is a real single.

I 100% agree with you. We think very much alike lol ;).

I’d say “Crave” or “Girl Tax”. These songs are more relatable to a wider range of audiences while “Platinum Blonde” is clearly not, and it’s not what Paris is conveying at the moment. The former two tracks also showcase stronger vocal ability from Paris, which in turn is what she needs to show for her sophomore album.

I’d say anything besides Paris For President. The song ain’t good and the whole Vote for Paris thing is no longer funny.

I think maybe Crave or something. I don’t think Paris For President would do well as a first single.
The first album sounded better than this one. :/

Sorry to hear that, Trevor! :/

I also wanted it to be as good as the debut album, but I still like it.

You forgot about My BFF!

Personally I love that song and think it’s great as the debut single WHICH IT IS as the first song she released. It’s catchy, pop-y, and fun. I love P4P. I dont know why you guys all seem to hate both these songs. They’re great, and P4P is funny. It’s also a good single. I like Crave and Platinum Blonde, but they’re so not single material. And Girl Tax is awful. Jailhouse Baby I agree should stay a CD track. I think the CD’ll come out this month. She’s promoted as much as she can given she’s been busy with her show and perfume and Repo. But she’s made a MV/website, talked about it, etc.

I love “My BFF”, but we’re speculating about possible singles and it’s certainly not going to be one. I just don’t think it’s single-material either. Anyway, I have to agree that the first album was better.

Paris for President is geared toward the elections, and they will be over this coming Tuesday.

So I don’t think it would be a good idea to use that for the debut because by Tuesday it’s dated. But it was a good intro for the album.

My favorite is Crave but I have to say that I like them all so far.

Admin, we’re just good like that ;D haha.

I honestly think Paris’ new sound works very well. Yeh these songs aren’t the best but we have to remember we’ve only heard clips of 3 of these songs. I’ve been thinking and honestly Platinum Blonde is perfect single material. What do most people think of when they hear Paris Hilton? Blonde hair. This is just a huge play on that. The video could be extremely playful and really quite awesome. The electro-synth sound, as I’ve said about 200 times is great. I know most of you are from America so I’m not exactly sure you get it. But it is HUGE over here (Australia) and in the UK. Yeh, the markets may not be as big but still she would be successful. The UK seems to love Paris at the moment so I think there is a real possibility for her the break into the charts, plus the poms love a good cheesy, electro pop tune.
Just try and move on from Paris, as with any artist they evolve and change with every album. I think we need to remain positive. The first Paris songs ever heard were Screwed and Stars Are Blind… an 80’s pop-rock disco Blondie influenced song and a love reggae pop song. They are both a completely different sound to the rest of the sexy, urban-club sounding tracks on Paris. We have to remember Paris loves a wide variety of music so I think we have a lot more to come. I think the main theme of this album will be synth-pop but I do expect some other genre mixed in.

People are not liking Paris’ new music. A lot of people have been admitting that they liked her first album and don’t like the new stuff.

Ugh 🙁

Also I’m starting to think that Paris for President is just for Swaghouse Media and not her first single. I think SHM paid for the video to be made and etc and using Paris to promote there new label and in return they are making this video for Paris. Hopefully soon she’ll announce her real new single with a real music video, sent out for adds and put on iTunes, etc.

Give us some freaking news Paris!

i’ve never understood why anybody thought PFP was anything but a parody for the election. I haven’t seen any reliable source say it’s meant to be on the album, much less a single from it. and i like it for what it is.

juju – Paris HERSELF told Ryan Seacrest that PFP was one of the songs on her upcoming album during a radio interview last month. So it IS gonna be on the new CD. It’s not related to FunnyOrDie

Scot,
That’s weird, because I found the beats on Platinum Blonde very US-esque, somehow Timbaland-ish. It’s my least favourite song from the bag.
Europe is a great market and, frankly I’m starting to think that good music just doesn’t make it in America. There’s a lot of great artists that are huge in Europe/Asia and total nobodies in the USA like, for example, Sugababes, Kylie Minogue, Anastacia, Nelly Furtado’s first works (the new CD is mostly crap) and so on. I’m not really concerned about that.
I got to hear the clips in GQ and I had another whole impression, I think the songs will really grow on me.

I don’t think it has a Timbaland feel at all.
I think it has a just euro-electro-synth, as Ive said before very Lady GaGa. I can’t imagine Timbaland doing that, I cant actually imagine Timbaland doing a slightly decent song. I would curl up in a ball and cry if Paris were to work with him.

I listened to the clip of Platinum Blonde a couple more times and I honestly think it should be a single. I think her voice sounds great and the lyrics and so playful and I think they would get stuck in your head.
