The Paris Hilton Charity Fund

Paris Hilton recently revealed that she is in process of developing the Paris Hilton Charity Fund, according to journalist Jimmy Viola.

Viola questioned about the seriousness of this Charity Fund. We know that it will be for chidren, but we don’t know how serious the project is, so this is just something to keep an eye on.

Paris Hilton reminded semi-hater Viola that she is still “working with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.”

Paris is also well aware of the fact that “Hottie” will be the target of haters: “I (Paris) know a lot of people are going to want to bash me because people are like that, so I really did my best with this movie.”

But how and when the Hate problem will be solved is something that Paris still hasn’t figured out.

By the way, Viola saw the movie and from what I gather, he says that the problem of the movie is not Paris Hilton’s acting skills (he says she’s comparable to Jessica Alba), but the “poor script.” He also adds “the plot is so predictable.”

It’s nice that Paris is doing some charity projects but people have to remember that Paris does not owe anyone anything.

What Paris does in regards to charity is up to her, and people need to stop hassling her about it.

Jen you said it perfectly! Paris is NOT anyone’s savior. And instead of people hassling her why don’t they do their own charity work or mind their own business and live their own lives ya know? Paris has done plenty of charity work in the past and I have no doubt in my mind that she will continue to do so when she has the time and opportunity. But again she doesn’t owe anyone a single thing. Anything that she does is out of the goodness and kindness of her heart.

of course she doesn’t owe anyone anything. But, if she doesn’t want to be called on it, don’t promise anything. That’s pretty simple. If you’re not serious, or not going to do it, then don’t hype it.

Kicking ideas around is NOT a promise, it only means she was gathering info and various projects came to mind.

Unless Paris signed a contract to do a specific deed, ,she is under NO obligation to anyone.

People need to stop being so unreasonable and just appreciate it whenever a celeb does anything at all.

why is a celeb different than other people? She’s talked about going to Africa for two years. There are other things as well. When she went on Larry King and spoke with Newsweek etc, she was very specific. Yet, when it came down to following through, there was nothing. All I’m saying is, don’t make statements for public consumption if they aren’t going to be done in a timely manner (months/a year max). Not sure why that’s such a burden on anyone, including a celeb. Wait until you’re a little more serious and the plans are a more concrete b/f you speak. Otherwise, it seems, maybe justfiiably, that you’re just doing it for publicity.

Poor script and predictable movie? ahh, that’s what I assumed from the start. Still it looks like a good old cookie cutter romantic comedy. Funny thing is I doubt it’s even going to be at all in my state. Unless it becomes a success like Juno did.

I know Repo! is going to shock a lot of reviewers and the general audience. Can’t wait to see both Repo! and the Hottie!

The Africa trip was postponed due to internal restructuring problems in the charity Paris was working with.
I can’t speak for Paris but I’m sure she’ll follow through just as soon as it is feasable.
In fact, I have never heard of Paris not follwing through on any work she contracted to do.

Oh yeah, and I’m really really looking forward to seeing the Hottie.
It will be a success even if it goes to DVD because Paris’s worldwide fans will buy it or pay to rent it.

miami1,

you’re entitled to your opinions, but i can’t help but notice how your opinions are never based on facts and that you go out of your way to be negative, ie nit-pick, fault-find, accuse, miss the big picture or context, etc. so my question to you is, why do you do that?

seems like you should figure out why you’re so negative and quick to judge before looking for specks in other people’s eyes.

To reiterate what other posters have said, and you’ve conveniantly ignored, paris owes nothing to anybody. Celebs are not required to do charity work any more than you or I are. All of us choose to do charity work when and how we feel compelled to do so.

And yes, thinking out loud is not a promise, much less a contract. As if you or any of us have never done that? Again, no need to nit-pick that issue unless you’re just going out of your wait to find fault. Paris can take her time to develop things as works for her.

Sitting on the sidelines and throwing stones from you or anybody else is not necessary.

juju,

Baseless comments. You state that I ignore that Paris doesn’t owe anything to anyone. Read the first line of my first comment. Celebs nor ANYONE else is required to do charity work. However, don’t mention it, if it’s not really going to be done in a somewhat timely manner. If you don’t want to deal with the charity issue, how about the tour she said she was going to take? Um, didn’t happen. There are many other items that are announced and simply never take place. There are others, like the Dabella poem that are dubious, at best. I’m simply stating, don’t announce so many things that don’t happen. That’s not hard for ANYONE.

(By the way, define celebrity in world of youtube, myspace, reality shows, 200 cable channels, etc. Brody Jenner? A Survivor winner, Kim Kardashian, a one hit wonder band, America’s Next Top Model. Seriously, I bet 80-90% of the American public couldn’t identify most of the people featured in US magazine or Entertainment Tonight. Wasn’t Britney’s paparazzi boyfriend just given a Entertainment Tonight exclusive. Is he a celebrity? Celebrity means VERY little these days. How about the girls from the Hills? That show, on a good night, gets maybe 3mm viewers or a bit more. That’s about 1% of the American population, but you’d think that LC was a huge star. If Warhol were alive he’d have to say that it’s almost impossible for someone not to be a celebrity. ) Being a celeb is insignificant. What one accomplishes is what matters the most.

Ok, I think we all agree it wasn’t a contract. How about just following through on what you say you’re going to do? If we really live in a world where only legally binding contracts necessitate action, instead of one’s goodwill and good word, then we have slid a very long way.

Aww, thanks dian. That’s such a cute post, thank you for visiting since 2006! What a loyal member! I bet your excited for all of Paris’ projects too? Glad Paris does more world-wide stuff instead of just focusing on the US. I think she understands NOW that she has a bigger fan base outside of the US. I just wish she would go visit Mexico, Thailand, Singapore, etc where her music fan base is the biggest. Like I’d rather have her go to those kind of places and make more fans than for her to come to Seattle, WA where everyone knows her and it won’t do much good.
