Theatrical release of Repo!

Paris Hilton

As I reported, Repo! will be played in eight theatres when it comes out in November. Laughable! Only eight!

Can you believe it? The Hottie and the Nottie played in about 100 theatres when it was released, but Repo! will play in only eight theatres! This is crazy! It’s because Lions Gates knows people prefer to watch some lame and boring popular movies (“safe” movies that somehow become popular) rather than an original and unique movie like Repo! There’s no movie in theaters that I would prefer to watch more than Repo!

Blame it on Lions Gates, for now. Regent Releasing would’ve been a better distributor for Repo! fans! Here’s a video of a Repo! fan who saw the movie in Toronto and expressed my thoughts about the theatrical release of Repo!

That is stupid. The Saw movies are just so unnecessary after Jigsaw and Amanda were both killed off in the third one (they’re mainly churned out for the dough me thinks).

Almost every single review of Repo has been positive and I’m sure the one I’m planning to write will be as well.

There’s been so much buzz about this movie, I can’t believe it’s such a small release, it has much bigger potential!!

Lions Gate actually comes out with quality movies worldwide.
We don’t know what the actual distribution plan is, but my guess would be that REPO will become a cult classic even if it goes straight to dvd.
The people who want to see REPO will find it and whether on screen or dvd it will probably be a commercial success eventually. Think Rocky Horror Show.

jen,

i agree. i already know i’ll buy the dvd, but i really want to see this film on the big screen in a theatre. it’s just that kind of larger than life film that will never translate as well for viewing on my tv. and unless there is a serious change to the distribution plan, then that won’t happen for me unless i get on a plane.

sigh, waah!

and those lionsgates jerks have no contact information on their website, otherwise i’d do what the guy in the video says and flood them with e-mails!
