2nd Confirmation: No TV Show For Paris Hilton’s Trip To Rwanda

Finally, I can confirm Paris Hilton’s trip to Rwanda will not be part of a reality show as Reuters is now reporting.

Remember, Scott Lazerson the founder of charity Playing for Good, was quoted as saying that he was going to film the trip in hopes to selling it as part of a reality show called “The Philanthropist.”

Well, that guy is no longer longer associated with the charity organization. The group also claims that they never planned to film a reality show based on the trip.

Personally, I think it would be a good idea and people would definitely watch and learn from it especially since Paris would be in it. As reported earlier, the trip has been postponed.

I think the Rwanda trip has been shelved for the time being. Seems like some internal squabbling is going on in the Playing For Good foundation, and they do not know what the next person who will be in charge wants to plan.

I never thought it was a great idea anyway. There are plenty of needy causes right here in the USA for anyone who wants to help kids.

That could be true. There are multitudes of needy children in the US. Heck, she could help the S. Cal fire victims. It’s her life, but if she wants to do charity work, she should probably pick an item or two and follow through. She’s promised halfway houses, Rwanda, a Mexican orphanage, etc. and none have come to pass. http://www.newsweek.com/id/43530 (Mexican orphanages)

It’s not a dig at her. It’s somewhat similar to her career. (No album tour, Club Paris’ etc. took her about two years to finish her album.) It could be her add or maybe she simply speaks before completely thinking things through. Perhaps, if she picks an issue or two, particularly, easier to accomplish issues, like helping local children, then she will be able to complete the worthwhile tasks that she wants to do. I’m sure it’s in her if she focuses.

Hmm. I think she said they were going to help an orphanage in Mexico, probably through the Playing For Good Foundation.
Well, she’s busy with many things and it’s not her fault the foundation is restructuring.
She has the rest of her life ahead of her to do charity work and she can be quite an influence for good, while not neglecting her own projects. She does not have to do it all in just a few moths.

I never thought making this Rwanda trip into a reality show was a good idea. Doing that would only throw gas on the fire of criticism she gets that the trip was just for her image and that she was not sincere.

I agree with one of the posters who said she talks too early about her projects. She needs to be quiet until something is done and then talk about it after it is succesful. Otherwise, when she promotes something too early, like this trip, and it doesn’t work out, she only invites criticism that she is insincere.

Actually, I think the best thing, for the time being, is for her to QUIT talking. The old adages, “just shut-up and do” and “actions speak louder than words”, etc, are ones she should live by for awhile. Pick a few things to be very successful at and let those things speak for themselves. That way, other people will be singing her praises and it will be more credible.

Right now, she’s almost the only one making positive statements about herself and people see through that. She keeps raising expectations with her promises adn then doesn’t always come through. People hate that!! She should get out of the spotlight for awhile and let things calm down. Everytime she speaks, she keeps all this summer’s negative fiasco fresh in the public’s mind. If her manager or PR people aren’t telling her this, then she needs to fire them and get more competent help. Seriously, this is PR 101 and she’s failing at it right now.

Haters will always be haters, so they are irrelevent. However, i think a lot of people want to give her the benefit of the doubt and would like to see her succeed. They just want to see it happen, not merely listen to her talk about it.

She needs to be smarter than that. Instead of rushing to rehab her image with the public, she needs to take her time and think things trough, pick something she really believes in and then work on only that project.

She tries to do too much and seems to lose track of following through or building on the successful projects. She starts great and then fizzles. This doesn’t encourage other investors to take her seriously. Investors like to see staying power in the marketplace, not a serious of false-starts and one-hit-wonder flashes in the pan.

She cares too much about the press. if she took a page out of her sister’s playbook and just focused on a few things that she is truly interested in and passionate about and followed through and built those few things into an enduring successful businesses, she would be much further ahead in life and in the public’s perception of her. She’s too scattered and needs to focus.

I really like paris, and i have always felt that she gets a bum rap for a lot of reasons that are not her fault, but she needs to wise up. Life is not always fair. Get over it and move forward, in a smart and adult way.

Why would a founder (Lazerson) leave a foundation that’s barely 1 year old? Something is wrong here.
My guess would be jealousies and ego clashes within the foundation itself.
