It was considered too hot for TV and it was close to being banned from airing on television. But fast food restaurant chain, Carl's Jr. finally decided to go along with it and air it on TV as a commercial. It is without a doubt the most popular Paris Hilton commercial ever produced and aired on TV.
However, not everyone was happy to see it. It wasn't the haters, but watchdogs, such as the Parents Television Council who complained that it was too "suggestive and titillating," too sexy basically, for kids "The way she moves, the way she puts her finger in her mouth -- it's very suggestive and very titillating." They viciously attacked Carl's Jr. and demanded to stop the commercial from airing, but they replied by suggesting them to "get a life" and that "maybe people are excited because it is Paris Hilton, but there are far worse things on television that these groups should be worried about" as Andy Puzder, CEO of Carl's Jr, said. What is also interesting to note is that when Carl's Jr. launched a website campaign for the commercial, SpicyParis.com, the server was so overwhelmed with traffic that it crashed at some point, but was back in operation after a few hours.
