I sent her this letter a month or two ago, I just wanted to post it here:
Dear Paris,
I sent you a letter before, in the past, around September of 2006. In reply I received an autographed picture, which was nice, but what bothered me is that I was unsure if you actually got my letter. It would mean a lot to me if you took the time out of your day to give me a written reply to this letter. You see, I don't want to just be some fan that gets an autograph and is just happy with that.
I sent you a letter when you were – eh-hem – incarcerated, because I was hearing on the news about how you seemed depressed and everything, and I wanted you to feel better by reading my letter, yet I sent it two days before you were released, and even then it would be too generic among the thousands you've gotten. I heard you replied to letters during that time, and I've never heard of anybody receiving more than an autographed picture otherwise.
It would be great if I got a written reply to this letter. Honestly I'm not entirely too happy most of the time, and having some contact with you would make me extremely happy. I turn 16 in two days, and I'll probably be 16 when you read this letter. I don't know if you'd be entirely open to the idea of befriending a 16 year old or anything, I honestly think I dream a little too much.
I don't know why I'm such a super-fan of you. First of all, you're different from other celebrities – you've done a lot more than just say a sentence in a movie and get a billion dollars. Second of all, I first became a fan when I was 13 or so, and I honestly felt alienated from my parents – I just needed someone I could care about – over the past year or two I've rebuilt my relationship with my parents, but I just sort of held on to liking you and whatnot.
Also, I felt like nobody else liked you – so many people online and everything say such vile things about you. I felt a sense of happyness when I argued with those people, like I was telling some schoolyard bully to shut up or something, yet it's not the situation, but generally you get the point, right? I feel sad sometimes that there's no way I can meet you – I felt some hope when you became friends with that Swedish pizza boy – I felt like maybe, just maybe I had a chance, but yet then again, he's 20, I'm 15 (again, 16 when you might read this). When I'm 18 and thus an adult, you'll be 29, you might have a boyfriend who wouldn't agree with the idea of you having male friends, and so on.
I really hope that you get this letter. I'd imagine that you have somebody who weeds out all the weird letters, and gives the okay ones to you – you seem to have a lot of free time on your hands, and I hope that maybe you spend that time reading fanmail. I'm starting to feel like I'm saying the same thing over and over again, but I don't want to be some normal little fan. I'm a bit ambitious – I want more than a little autographed picture or a brief 5 minute conversation at some signing event or something. You seem like a real caring person, and I just want somebody I can talk to that will care about me and not be biased on things, such as my parents. They care about me, yet whenever I talk to one of them about the other, their opinion is biased due to a disliking of eachother.
I homeschool, and I don't really have any friends. I have an online friend who lives in Slovenia, but she's not online too often. If, hypothetically, we became friends in some manner, I'd be incredibly happy. Just meeting you and talking for five minutes wouldn't make me too happy, because it'd just be five minutes, then we'd just go on with our lives in seperate directions.
I usually include a poem I wrote in these letters. I have a thing for poetry and music, but my talent in the former is average and for the latter it's non-existent. My poetic inspiration only sparks when something bad happens – I wrote a poem while you were in jail, which sort of expresses how I feel. Again – in a perfect world, you'd get this letter, you'd reply with a cute little letter, and maybe we'd email eachother back and forth (assuming you have an email address – that's a stereotype I don't like, the stereotype that you don't know how to use a computer), and maybe we'd meet at some point. It would honestly mean a lot to me if you just took five minutes or so out of your day to send me a written reply. Please.
