HairTech strikes back with a $70 million lawsuit against Paris Hilton

    Reported by TMZ

Hairtech International has amended its lawsuit against Paris, claiming she’s cost them $70 mil in profits by reneging on her deal to promote and wear its hair extensions.

Hairtech — which originally sued for $35 mil back in August — claims Paris pocketed $3.5 mil from the company to endorse the extensions, but screwed them by wearing competing extensions.

Hairtech also claims … when Paris went to Jail in 2007, she breached the deal by breaking the law.

PHS note: TMZ fails to mention that a judge had recently shot down the majority of the claims made by Hairtech in the $35 mil lawsuit.

Whether it has any merit or not, this is again a distraction. Arguably, she “broke the law” by being irresponsible (several times). Did she wear their competitor’s extensions? I don’t know. And if she did, did it really have a negative effect on the sales of their products? I highly doubt it (considering it being hair extentions). Anyway, a celebrity who endorses a product should use it, too. Not just during promotional events…

Depends on how the contract was written. If it isn’t written down it does not exist.

It seems that Hairtech is now trying to collect on some nebulous implcations rather than the actual contract.

What appears to have happened is that the last recession finished off the comopany and now they are looking for someone to get money from. The usual story in such cases.

Radar reported that the owners were evicted from their expensive Newport home for failure to pay the rent, so it seems they could not afford their lavish life style.

At any rate, this “case” does not seem to have much merit indeed.

It’s a bit sad how Paris’s bussiness tend to always end up this way.

It mostly does NOT end up this way. But some people sue because they want Money.

This particular case does not have any more merit than when the defunct movie company tried to sue her.
It’s mostly a nuisance lawsuit, they are hoping Paris will settle and pay them money to stop badmouthing her.

But I think Paris will fight them one to the max.
A little “bad publicity” has never hurt Paris and these people do not scare her.

Her millions of fans keep growing and they don’t care what anyone says – least of all this company.
Everyone knows that Paris worked very hard to advertise Hairtech products.
