Kat McKenzie from British BFF has died

RIP

Reported by La-Deli / Edited by PHS / Thanks to Jaime

According to Sam Hextall the winner of Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend, his runner up competition Kat McKenzie has died. The winner posted his condolences on his twitter, but refrains from stating the cause of death when asked out of respect for her family.

Contestants Meddie Ford and  Chrissie Wunna also voiced condolences on twitter. Of course, twitter is not a reliable news-source and there have understandably been no news reports on the death. However one of the shows contestant’s got in touch with LA Deli to say the following:

“I can confirm that she has passed away as of last night.”

Further comments have been made public by the contestants via a facebook group with such dedications as:

Im so glad that i got the opportunity to get to know Kat…I have never met someone who has made such a big impression on me .She was full of life and had the most beautiful smile i have ever seen..-layla

Kat was such an out going lively character with such a big personality and behind this she was also a lovely girl with a big heart! – Ola

I will miss her greatly and will always envy her courage, confidence and love of life – Samuel

This is truly sad. Kat was not my favourite contestent; but I did like her overall. I hope Paris writes something on her Twitter as well.

It’s a shock! And really sad… she was way too young to die. 🙁

I worked with Kat in Paris and she was sweet and lovely. She used to do these wicked tricks on the pole and we used to call her little monkey. She was always honest and upfront, this was also one of her really beautiful qualities. The show didn’t portray her as she truly was, which was a person who was much liked by many people.

Too young to have died.

RIP little monkey

I can’t believe it! I really don’t. I loved Kat and I’m really sad this happened to her and really sorry for her family and friends. Honestly.
The world would be a better place if there were more people that dared to speak up their minds like her. I’m sure she was a great person.

Thankyou for sharing that with us Nicola. You are blessed to have known her personally!!

I get sadder everytime I re-read it, seriously, I agree with you Math, people who are honest & upfront are deffinitely the best type of people! They won’t backstab you or lie to you; being upfront & honest is one the best qualities you could ever want in a friend!

RIP Kat, I’m so glad you were a part of BBF so friends, family & fans can remember you through the episodes we have forever.

without a cause of death listed, i’m not ready to buy it. that’s too fishy. there’s nothing disrespectful about reporting how someone has died once you’ve reported the death.

Well, Paris has confirmed this over Twitter:
“I am so sad, my friend Kat from British BFF passed away. She was such a beautiful, funny, and charismatic woman. She will truly be missed.
It is devastating to hear of her loss, my thoughts and wishes go out to her friends and family. Love you Kitty Kat. RIP .”

Will miss Kat a lot. Only months ago we were talking about getting together for a drink and a catchup and i’m gutted i will never see her fabulous smile and personality ever again. I worked with her for 2 years and she is one of the kindest, funniest, sweetest people you will ever meet. To me she was a role model and someone i looked upto. Paris’s show did not show her warm side particulaly but people that know her personally all know what a fabulous talented amazing person she was and she will always be in peoples thoughts. RIP sweetheart xxxxxxx

Georgee ,
I think it’s logical that the programme would show her ‘prankster’ side more than it is in real life. That’s because the producers prefer to show a characterised side of each contestant. So there is the bitchy one, the gay one, the crazy one, and so on. It’s supposed to create different characters with contrasting personalities.
But I think that lots of people, including Paris, have seen through this character they were trying to portray and began to love her. I still get sad every time I see her picture in here.

how did she die?

to people like WAYNE and juju, you have no idea what kind of person she was. The show didn’t do her any favours at all but did show that people should speak their minds more often. Kat was my best friend and she was always there when i needed to speak to her about my problems. she put everyone before herself and did anything without asking for something in return.
no one needs to know how she died. but people should remember the way she lived. to her, life was a party in which you only get one chance and in the time she had, she had accomplished so much.
so the next time anyone thinks of saying “i didn’t like her” just think of the amount of lives she touched and made such an impact for the good that makes them who they are today.
i love you kat and miss you. so does W. xxx
