Legal expert: Paris Hilton expected to drop from felony to misdemeanor

Just to be clear, Paris Hilton has never directly commented on the case, so the hateful media shouldn’t put words in her mouth without hearing her side of the story until the day comes. And it is not up to them to decide what the punishment should be if she’s found guilty.

I’ve posted a video below of an attorney Amy Feldman who argues that this case is expected to be reduced from felony to misdemeanor. She says: “This isn’t a question of whether she was dealing cocaine. At most it’s a misdemeanor. And say it’s a felony it will get busted down probably to a misdemeanor because she really was not likely to have been dealing the drugs. And then she will probably just face probation or community service.”

I hope this happens. My heart goes out to Paris so much with this ridiculous situation that only came about because of bad luck (or else was a set up). A tiny amount of a drug that may well not be her’s shouldn’t be a reason to have her life ruined for up to the next four years, just because some asshole wants to win an election or make an example out of her. I support Paris completely and always will. She’s not a bad person and she has never hurt anyone. Paris has always been a source of cheer and comfort to me when I’m depressed and I know many other fans have felt the same kind of positive influence and effect from her good nature and sense of fun. The world would be a pretty miserable and dull place without her. I wish the “bold gendarmes” would go after real criminals! I don’t come by here that often anymore, but I just wanted to voice my continued support and love for Paris in her time of need.

Great to hear back from you, Django! 🙂

You’re right!
There are far greater criminals, corrupt politicians, Bernard Madoffs who cause more serious crimes and run loose in our society. When will the public get mad about them… The world is upside down!

the should punish the people who sell drugs, not the consumers!!! i dont know what is true at this story, and what really happended at this night but i know america has a very stupid law!!! in germany you never would become jail for 0.8 g of cocaine!!! PUNISH THE DRUGSELLERS NOT THE CONSUMERS….THATS THE RIGHT WAY!!! PARIS IS INNOCENT!!!

Hello, Enkil. I always liked your site and your fair minded reporting and analysis. One of the poems I originally submitted here actually got a comment and favourited by Paris when I reposted it on her official community.

These so-called “journalists” are ridiculous. Apparently they never learned that reporters are supposed to be unbiased and objective when reporting the news, and that reporting the news means reporting the facts. Paris has never said that the purse was hers. The story has consistently been that it was her friend’s purse and she put some of her own stuff into it. And yeah, it would be stupid to open a bag with coke in it in front of a police officer. Maybe that’s a dead giveaway that she’s INNOCENT?? Ugh, people like this should not be allowed to talk. Oh wait, it’s Fox News, never mind.

Exactly retrograde. Some of these reports seem to find it contradictory that Paris put some of her own belongings into the bag. Why borrow a bag if she wasn’t going to put anything into it? Why are these two things seemingly at odds for them to understand?

I’ve always hated the biased and sometimes downright abusive tone that many of these articles take when it comes to Paris. They also always seem to have a way of twising everything. If she answers a question about how many pets she has, she’s “boasting” rather than just answering a question that someone asked her for example.

So much is wrong. Initiatlly it was reported that the motorcycle cop decided to check because of the alleged smell of marijuana. Now it’s stated that he recognised Paris as the passenger right around the same time. Are we supposed to believe that’s neither here nor there in his decision? The cop was supposedly left alone with the bag, was alone with Paris when the alleged coke allegedly fell out and then by his own admission put it back into the bag to then reveal to others! Yeah, that doesn’t sound the least bit open to corrupt police work or a set up! And why is it so impossible, that if Paris borrowed the bag or got it back from someone else, that one small item might have been in it that Paris hadn’t noticed when putting her own belongings into?

Exactly!! When I read what that cop wrote about putting the coke back in the purse, alarm bells immediately went off in my head. That is beyond suspicious right there. I also hate how people are saying she’s stupid for thinking that the coke was gum. Like, what do you want her to say? “OMG cops, I think this baggie is ful of coaine!!” Like no, of course not. Of course she’s gonna hope that it’s not drugs and that there’s a logical, legal explanation for what the substance is. She’s not gonna guess that it’s sugar because no one carries around bags of sugar in their purse, but that it could be crushed mints/gum is a perfectly logical guess to make in such an unexpected, scary situation. It’s just ridiculous to me how wiling people are to believe the worst about her and how cruel, sick, and vindictive they are about her woes. It’s disgusting and she doesn’t deserve any of it. I really hope she is exonerated of these ridiculous accusations.

Remember that Paris has ADHD.

This does not make her stupid, but she is probably not very detail oriented.
ADHD people often see the big picture very well , but minor details escape them.

So it is entirely possible that she either did not see such a small amount of coke or did not think to check what it is.
Whether it belonged to her or not.

I myself have a closet full of purses and I sometimes find stuff in them I did not even know I had.LOL.
And I don’t have ADHD.

What some people interpret as her stupidity or arrogance is probably just ADHD.

i think they only stopped the car becasue she was in it. also, like i said before, i wouldn’t be surprised if teh cop planted it.

even if the cocaine discovery were legit, i think anybody else would not have been arrested, much less charged with a felony.

but in the mean time, paris has an attorney and so she should abosolutely not make any puble comment – including tweets – about it. when she does, it just goes back in the media cycle and it also compromises her attorney’s ability to rep her.

with all her experience in teh cjs she shoudl know this by now better than anybody

Yes, she needs to be very careful.

When it comes to Paris, everything she does gets inflated clear out of proportion.

Also I meant to write ADD in my previous post, sorry.
