Lionsgate TV sues distributors of Paris Hilton’s Dubai BFF

Lionsgate Television — which produces the MTV show “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF” — is suing two men and their Dubai company for allegedly bailing out on production of the series in that city.
The federal suit, filed yesterday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, claims that Uniqon Emirates, LLC did not come up with more than $4.7 million to produce the show.
In the lawsuit, Lionsgate claims it had a written agreement with Uniqon to co-produce and distribute the show in the Middle East.
The show was taped last summer in Dubai, but has not aired yet.
Lionsgate is suing for breach of contract and more than $8 million in compensatory damages.
