Nicole Richie confirms that she and Paris Hilton are still friends

Paris Hilton is busy filming a new season of Paris Hilton’s My New BFF. She was recently seen filming an episode on 3rd Street in Hollywood, California. According to FOX News, Onch, the BFF contestant from last season’s show, made a special guest appearance during the filming of one of the episodes.

Meanwhile, Paris’ friend Nicole Richie answered a few questions about her and the good old TV series “The Simple Life.”

She said that she and Paris are indeed still friends: “Yes. We’re friends. We’ve known each other since we were little.” Finally, she reminded everyone that the Simple Life was a fake reality TV show: “Listen, I watch television. I know that things have to be entertaining or else people aren’t going to watch it. The producers were very clear about the characters they wanted us to be. We were fine with it.”

Finally, I just managed to name each of the songs you sent out to us, well except for the instrumentals but I think they just went with the comic book panels. I had the first chance to really go through them today and I’m so excited, we have all the Amber songs thanks to you!

I think it’s a bit silly that people assume the Simple Life personas both girls had were their 100% true selves. Television is about exaggeration, it’s about bullshit, and it’s about entertainment. You’re supposed to watch TV and say ‘I can’t believe they’re doing that!’ and that’s exactly what people said while watching the Simple Life. My BFF is a bit of bullshit too. It’s fun, its entertainment, it’s not serious. Of course she’s not going to get a best friend out of this, 95% of the people will be applying will go on their to further themselves then that other 5% are genuine fans and want to be her friend. Out of that 5% not everyone is going to click with Paris. It’s just a whole load of fun; I wish people would just take it for what it is.

gossipgirls.com has a video interview with Doug Reinhardt, filed under Paris.

It’s interesting and he seems like a very nice boy.

” we’re friends” that’s hardly a ringing endorsement. one would think that if they wer still close that nicole would have both more and nicer things to say with a bit more enthusiasm.

i think nicole is still just being clever.

Scot, sadly, people in general are simply not very intelligent. I don’t say that maliciously, either. I think it is pretty safe to say that Paris is merely perpetuating her version of her brand. The line is blurred between fantasy and reality for some, because she is using a real life theme in her fantasy TV show. The line gets blurred when those who actually want to be her friend, who want that for real may or may not get a friend out of her. They very likely are not getting a BFF unless there is something really special to her about someone.

I believe Paris’s tears during elimination are merely to add an element of credibility to her show, which may add to someone’s convoluted perception.

As for Nicole and Paris still being friends, I imagine they might be as much “friends” as Hollywood people can be. I believe the term “friend” to be trite, over-used and abused. Many behave like acquaintances yet label each other as friends. I am not saying that is the case with Nicole and Paris, I believe they had something special compared to the quality of most Hollywood relationships. I also think it is hard to read as to whether or not “we’re friends” is a “ringing endorsement.

When you see the text of what is said, you get only 7% of potential communication quality, so there is a lot of information not included that could be a deciding factor.

Tone of voice represents 38% of communication quality and her body language, or physiology represents 55% of potential communication quality. We don’t have that luxury, and many other factors could be at play. Nicole might be getting asked this everywhere she goes, and if it is getting old, then her answers will become shorter and shorter just because of being sick of answering such questions over time.

Only 2 people know for sure the nature of and quality of the relationship between the two of them, and they are Nicole and Paris themselves.

I can’t stand Nicole. I think she’s just a user and so fake. I don’t believe for an instant her and Paris are still friends. Juju I completely agree with you.

I think they’re friends and lead busy lives. Don’t understand why people wouldn’t believe her. Paris and Britney are friends. Does anyone doubt that too?

Depends what you call a “friend”, it seems that definition is varied.

scot,

You’re welcome! I was wondering do we really have all of Amber’s songs now? I remember Paris had said that she recorded 10 or 11 songs.

I’m still really impressed by all the Repo! songs. It’s really an amazing musical collection. Paris is really great in Repo! Zydrate Anatomy and Happiness is Not a Warm Scalpel are still AWESOME songs, as well as Come Up and Try My New Parts, even though it’s a demo.

It just saddens me that they haven’t caught the public’s attention enough. It really pisses me off that when it comes to Paris, people are more interested in the whole Hollywood gossip drama than these works of art! But that’s just me.

I still listen to the soundtrack! Loves it!

From what I remember Paris said she recorded 12, 7 of them solo. The Amber Sweet songs we have are

Mark It Up
Zydrate Anatomy
Happiness is not a Warm Scalpel
Can’t Get It Up If The Girls Breathing?/Come Up and Try My New Party
GraveRobber and Shilo Escape
Luigi, Pavi and Amber harass Mag
At the Opera Tonight
Bravi!
Who Ordered Pizza
Blame Not My Cheeks

That is eleven right there, or twelve if you include CGIUITGB and New Parts as seperate songs. So I guess we do infact, have all of the Amber songs.

I listen to the Repo! soundtrack so much, its so weird. I absolutely love all of Rotti’s songs. The funny thing is, there was so much hype about Sarah Brightman and her talent, out of all the main cast she impressed me the least. Paul and Alexa were the standouts for me, Paris proved that she really does have a great voice but I dont think we actually heard enough of her for her to really make an impact. She was included in so many songs but most were less then 30 seconds.

If they do anymore Repo! movies, I think we’ll be seeing a prequel first, which would mean no Paris. Obviously a sequal would really need Paris.

*LMAO* “Can’t Get It Up If The Girl’s Breathing” – Holy necrophiliac Batman! Oh well, at least she can’t say “NO!”. When I saw the show in the theater, during the 1st half hour, I really thought that this show is just *NOT* for me.

I am usually very open-minded, but I felt compelled to walk out on the show. I forced myself to stay, for the sake of seeing Paris and taking her in and being able to at least give an open, honest evaluation. I found it to be the kind of show that drew me in *LATER*… the humor is a bit dark though, I’d never lick a sibling’s face, nor would I stab them just to fuck the hole. I have a diverse sense of humor, but I can’t say I have never utilized dark humor myself. 🙂

Paris’s character, Amber Sweet seemed to be struggling with an internal tug-o-war. She seemed to really want the love and acceptance of her father, but at another level, she knew how dysfunctional her family was, so she sought autonomy through selfish pursuits….. but along the way got hooked. I think that the people who do not give the movie a fair chance are the ones who have already condemned Paris Hilton for being Paris Hilton.
