Incredible, that this was 5 years ago. Paris gets more beautiful every year.

I’m susprised the one of her crying in the back of the police car wasn’t more iconic; it really showed the fall of someone who up until then seemed unstoppable.

It’s a recent picture, taken after 2005. But wouldn’t be surprised if we find it in the 2005-2009″ category.

She is being put alongside with other famous people for being predominant:

George Bush, Michael Phelps, Vladimir Putin, Michael Jackson, Saddam Hussein, Pope John Paul II and Paris Hilton. Politicians became superstars and celebrities reigned.

Paris was unofficially or officially the most famous woman of the decade, no? 🙂

Yup, I didn’t realize, but our Paris has certainly left a mark on this decade. OMG, from 2003 till now, can’t believe time has passed so fast.

I’d say Paris & Britney were both the most famous women of this decade, particularly in the way they manipulated the media. Lindsay tried but has just failed, imo. Lady Gaga is on the rise though.

Paris is to the 00’s what Edie Sedgwick was to the 60’s. She is an icon of this decade without a doubt. Without Paris, the likes of Nicole Richie and Kim Kardashian (and her sisters) and many others who rode her fame tailcoat wouldn’t be anywhere near as successful as they are. The 00’s was the decade of internet obsession and celebrity obsession and Paris was really involved in both of those. I really hope her star continues to shine even brighter in the 10’s (how weird is it typing that, it doesn’t look right at all). But she’ll forever be the face of this decade.

I’ll have to admit my personal favourite years were 06-07. The hollywood bad girl era. Britney going crazy, Lindsay being revealed to being a coke addict, Nicole Richie going ana and Paris befriending them all and moving on. Also who could forget the build up of Paris’ album being released. 2006 was also the year I really first fell for Paris and realised what a wonderful human being she is.

I’m going to say that if they do more photo of this for 06-09 I think it will either people that picture of Paris in the cop car crying or that one of her walking into/out of the court, with her glasses on and just looking scared and vulnerable. With other people though, I think ones of Britney shaving her head, or bald and attacking the paparazzi with an umbrella (my personal favourite) or the one of Britney flashing her vagina and Paris sitting next to her giggling (I do love Paris’ expression in that photo I just wish Britney’s vagina wasn’t ruining it) and that shot of Nicole Richie running on the beach with her bones on display.

I’m just looking through all these photos and it just makes you realise what a huge impact Paris has made. All of these photos, world leaders, death, tragedy… and Paris Hilton. I think it says it all right there.

I just went a looked up that photo of Paris crying in the police car and worst mistake. It absolutely breaks your heart. Duuuuuude. I found myself getting a little glassy-eyed which I felt a bit stupid about but I guess a downer, sad song and then a photo of your idol crying isn’t exactly the greatest combo.

I think Paris can be considered an icon for this decade too. People tend to overlook the influence she had on this decade’s fashion (e.g., Jackie-O styled glasses, ‘light’ dresses, crown-like tiaras) and how ‘The Simple Life’ preceded all the reality shows outside the ‘Big Brother’ pattern.
The photo is pretty and it’s also very iconic. Like it was foreseeing the celebrity culture that would peak by the mid-end of the decade.
