Paris Hilton picture to be shown nationwide on a TV ad, thanks to presidential hopeful John McCain

Did you guys check out CNN.com? The “Hilton” name can be found in one of their headlines: “McCain ad compares Obama to Spears, Hilton.”

A new TV ad, which attacks presidential hopeful Barack Obama and calls him as the “biggest celebrity in the world,” shows the picture of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.

I’m happy to see that that the presidential candidate John McCain chose Paris Hilton because he considers her to be an international celebrity. The only problem is that the ad reminds the American public of the media image of Paris Hilton. It’s probably free promotion for Paris (and Britney), but in a negative way. This comes at a time when Paris is doing her best to once again change the public’s perception about her with all the future projects. Could Paris hit back at McCain for using her picture?

The campaign ad will run in 11 states: Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.

McCain adviser, Rick Davis, considers Obama as the #1 international celebrity, compared to Paris and Britney: “What we decided to do was find the top three international celebrities in the world. And I would say that from our estimation, Britney and Paris came in second and third. So from our perspective, we have the biggest three celebrities in the world.”

More importantly, another McCain adviser, Steve Schmidt, thinks that it is accruate to compared Obama to Paris and Britney because both celebrities are often portrayed as “frivolous and irresponsible,” like Obama, according to Schmidt.

In my opinion, it’s probably true that the media wants Obama to win the elections, but whether you vote for Obama or McCain, it probably won’t make a difference. You’ll still have one of the most hated governments in the world!

I hated Obama ever since he talked shit about the Hilton Hotels and Paris. Fuck him, he’s so immature. He even gave a “fist pump” (when you bump fists with someone) instead of a handshake after a speech.

Ugh McCain sounds terrible too.. IDK IDK.. I don’t even care, I’m not even old enough to vote.

Paris looks graceful and beautiful in the bit hey showed of her

I saw the add and I assume it used the images without permission, so there might be legal recourse.

Otoh, Paris does look quite stunning in the add and it gives her free publicity.
I guess it all depends on how she feels about McCain lol.

The reason given by the McCain team was that Britney and Paris were the #2 and #3 most sought-after celebs in the world.
So I guess it’s a weird sort of compliment.

this was meant to belittle not only obama, but brittany and paris as well by playing on the “trainwreck/celebutard, nothing there, famous for being famous sentiment”. clearly meant to pander to self-righteous haters, but personally I see it as a gratuitous attack and in poor taste to say the least.

tmz also reports that both rick and kathy contributed to the mccain campaign. we’ll see if that changes after this thinly veiled attack against the hilton family. first obama, now mccain exploits paris and her family for their own political gain.

personally i think it shows the candidates in a poor light. if they are this sleazey/petty and this is their idea of appropriate behavior and judgement, then neither are worthy of what is arguably the most powerful political office in the world.

i wouldn’t vote for either one. i demand better from the president of the U.S. not to mention a senator.

McCain comes across as very desperate.
Plus, it’s not fair that Paris should be dragged into a political controversy.

And I don’t think McCain will win, no matter what he does.

The cunt Obama claims petulantly about Paris “I never even met the woman”. That’s never stopped him from pretending to be an expert on her with harsh judgemental comments or taking fatherly pride on how he’s brainwashed his children to be so hateful and judgemental towards someone they don’t know – someone who has never wronged or hurt them or anyone else. Both Obama and McCain are despicable trash who wear their lack of morals on their sleeve.

Is there a link I can get so I can see what Obama said about Paris, I never even knew he said anything about her :/

And the fact that the hilton family have supported this old twat just shows the true nature of America (no offense to Americans haha)

I don’t like either of those idiots, McCain or Obama. Vote for a third party candidate.

I must agree with this ad, when it comes to Obama being a celebrity. He was even the cover for Rolling Stone! But I don’t think it’s fair to use other people’s image that way first because they used them with a lot of prejudgements. Second, because they trashed Obama, almost saying he’s popular, but useless and adding this perception to Paris’ and Britney’s figures.
As a non-American, my perception of it is that the rest world is just happy because he ain’t Bush. McCain isn’t getting all this circus around him because he and Bush come from the same party, so that should mean they share the same ideas.
But honestly, I think that would just remain for a few months. The rest of the world hates America because she commands the world, let us face it.

It’s annoying that McCains new team used Paris without getting her permission but I think the add sort of backfired on McCain, while giving Paris sure validation for being a worldwide celebrity.

Paris looks beautiful and most serious news channels only discussed the fact that Obama was compared to two celebrities.

The women on the View were the only ones who were kind of bitchy, saying McCain should have used “more important” celebrities.

I got quite po’d this morning when the bitches on The View exaggerated about Paris, saying she was “in prison and in the drunk tank a couple of times”.

WTF?

Their superior attitiude toward Paris is especially incomprehensible considering they are working for Barbara Walters who, by her own admission in her recent book, was a whore who slept with a married black man.

People in glass houses should not throw rocks at Paris.

McCain and Obama are both high like planes. And how can anyone be famous for being famous? Wouldn’t you have to be famous first?

Not only one of the most hated but in my opinion, coming from an American, one of the most corrupt governments.

jen,

i agree with you about the view. unfortunately, i saw that as well today. even worse than joy and whoopi’s comments about paris being in the drunk tank and to jail “several times” was the idiot sherri sheperd calling paris stupid. Holy fuck, i almost died when i heard that comment! talk about the pot calling the kettle black,,,sherrie sheperd thinks the world is flat and that jesus predated everyone else in history!

but i agree this ad has back-fired on mccain. I’m not a fan of either. i would vote for a third party.

oh, and i don’t care who babs walters sleeps with. i never think that’s anybody’s business except the people involved. i hate barbara because of the shoddy way she used the hilton family when paris was in jail, imo that was sleezy journalism not be-fitting someone of walters stature.

From: Emily

Jen,

Wow.

Would it have been ok if Barbara slept with a married white guy? Was Barbara a “whore” b/c of it was a “black guy” or b/c he was married? Would she just have been a slut if he was a white guy? Was she a whore b/c he was a black guy? What would you call her if it had been an asian guy? Isn’t this name calling some of the same poor treatment that Paris gets? Defending Paris is one thing, what you wrote was more/less than that, depending on how you look at it.

From: Jen
Time: July 31, 2008, 7:48 pm

Barbara Walters wrote in her book that she slept with a married black man.
When you sleep with a married man I call that a whore.

Btw, Sherri on The View also recently admitted to having “numerous abortions”.
So, ditto for her.

The point I am making is that these people have no business being judgemental about Paris.

Oh I fucking hate the ladies on The View, they are so old and dried up they need to go away.

This story is really blowing up, I’m hearing about it everywhere! In the mean while I’ll just sit here and dance to Do Ya Think I’m Sexy (classic) Paris version of course.

From: Emily

my point was why did his race matter so much unless you grow up in South Carolina or something. married is married isn’t it? it just seems like you’ve got some extra “emphasis” b/c it was a black guy. Like, not only was he married, he was also black.

From: Jen

Emily –
I did not write the book, Barbara Walters did.
His race does not matter to me. Her actions do.

it seems this was declared “paris bashing week” by someone somwe where. The Chief of LAPD publically blamed paris lindsay and brittany for the paparazzi problem in L.A. go to TMA or E! to see the video, it’s disgusting. it reaffirms my suspicion that LAPD offficers set paris up all along when they first pulled her over two years ago. i still think the breathilyzer was rigged.

The add has circled the globe and given Paris very good additional publicity.

She looks gorgeous in the add and the fact is that an American presidential candidate is seeing Paris as an important celebrity.

Yes, I understand it was meant to undermine Obama but the unintended Real effect is to show how important a celebrity Paris is now.

You can’t buy this kind of publicity with money. LOL.

From: Parisfan2991

I dont like the ad and nor did Paris. Paris issued a statement about it and wasnt pleased that he used her image without permission. The Hiltons donated $5000 to the McCain camp and before using a supporters image in your ad, you should consult the person. Paris and politics dont work well and this was a strategic yet disrespectful ad on McCains part. Honestly i dont like McCain at all, not saying Obama’s any better… Paris for PRESIDENT!!!!! whos with me? ahah
