That’s so great. I have all her colognes and will continue to buy them.

Maybe some day Paris can be just like Elizabeth Taylor and live very comfortably from the income of her fragrances alone.

I think Paris could live a nice little life on what her fragrances make now. Might not be as luxurious as she likes but from a normal persons view she could live an extremely comfortable life.

I cant wait for the release of Siren, I’m just looking for to what the ad will look like haha.

Actually I am not so sure about that, sadly, because I had gone to many different stores to try to locate her men’s colognes and many women working in the stores I visited said that her line was discontinued.

It’s okay, though, I eventually got my hands on some, but it was not easy. I think that she understands business very well, and knows the cruel “nature of the beast”. That, I speculate, is why she keeps moving on, doing other, new things. She will not just sit on her fabulous fanny and wait for money to come to her. She makes it for herself and I think if she is guilty of anything at all, it is spreading herself too thin. She is probably one of the busiest people you could ever meet. She seems to have a lot of her great grandfather’s traits in her.

They’ve been discontinued? Hmm well that does make sense and I wouldn’t be surprised if that was Paris’ decision rather than because they products aren’t selling well. She seems to move onto other business ventures so quickly, it’s insane. But like you said, Paris understands the business and understands that every product she releases has this buzz moment that will either last for a tiny bit of be a surprise and last a while so she tries to get it out as much as she can during that buzz period.

I don’t think I will ever understand how people can think she is lazy, she has so many products out and products coming out soon, how could you possibly be lazy? She must find it so hard to even just have a sit down meal.

if it’s discontinued, then it may have to do with the company that’s behind it. Parlux is almost out of business. Their sales overall aren’t that great. FWIW, their stock is almost worthless/less than $1.

I still see her womens scents around in my shopping centre and I’m in a small city in Australia.

Hmmm it would be interesting to find out whats going on with this all. I thought their perfumes had brought in $100 million + in the last year or so thanks to Paris’ and Jessica Simpsons perfumes. Can anyone shed some light?

revenues were ok, expenses were far too high. Throw in a bad economy and their stock price is down to like .75 cents. Considering what Paris had to work with, her stuff did well.

Paris’s fragrances for men were discontinued, not the ones for women, but they are not exactly plentiful either. I have seen a few of her fragrances for women around, but the ones for men are probably as rare as finding gold. Scot, you are in Aussie land, and I think Paris is much bigger over there than she is here, or at least more well-received.

Here in Canada, I think she is both loved and hated, just the same as in the USA, except here in Canada, there is not the same level of celebrity obsession. A very famous celebrity can walk down the streets of my city without being bombarded by over-zealous fans, or worse yet, obsessed ones or stalkers. It’s a small price to pay for the privilege of wealth and fame, though. Life is a series of trade offs.

It’s hard to know for sure whether it was Parlux or Paris who decided to discontinue the line of her fragrances for me, but it is a sign of good business acumen to know when to remove oneself.

I bought Can Can and Fairy Dust when they first came out at Macy’s. Everytime I shop at Macy’s I check on Paris’ perfumes counter. Last X’mas she occupied one whole counter, now Jessica Simpson is sharing her counter space. All her promotional big box perfumes are sold, the only ones left are the single ones costing $55.00. CanCan sold far better than Fairy Dust. She should continue her promotions of CanCan.

I remember reading in the 2008 Annual Report of Parlux that they underestimated the huge demand for CanCan and could not ship enough to satisfy the orders of stores. The report said that they hope to make it up the following year, 2009. But they did not anticipate the economic downturn.

PARLUX just signed another 5-year contract with Paris and she is getting an award.
Not to worry.

No one is worrying, especially about Paris. It’s just a business reality that parlux and possibly, probably, perfumania, is going out of business. A 5 yr contract with a bankrupt company is not worth much. They already sold the license rights to the sunglasses, and for not alot.

Parlux closed today at .70 cents and is down over 90% over the year. It has a market value of about $14 million, which is probably a little less than Jennifer Anniston’s house or about 1/3 of Alex Rodriguez’s salary. That’s not a company long for this economy.
