Pat Boone Prays For Paris Hilton

Veteran crooner Pat Boone is praying for Paris Hilton to join Hollywood’s born-again Christians after the socialite confessed she spent her recent jail time reading The Bible. The Love Letters In The Sand singer, who found religion early in his career and turned his back on the temptations of fame, believes Hilton’s ‘conversion’ could help save many Hollywood party people.

He says, “Paris said she is on a spiritual search right now that she’s out of jail, and I thought, ‘Great.'” Now the aging heartthrob is hoping troubled stars like Nicole Richie, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan follow Hilton’s example.

He adds, “My hope is that all these women find something real and valid. They need to pay attention to their core and value the inner parts of who they really are.”

“Something real & valid?”
What? Just like the shame of his white milk toast watered-down versions/hits of killer original rock songs by black artists?

“Pay attention to their core and value their inner parts of who they really are?”
You are not born w/a belief in God.
It is baptized/forced/brainwashed into you.
God is a fraud perpetuated by mankind
to keep their fellows oppressed.

Pat Boone sucks.

Just like me.”

Right there all the way with you thewaymouth! We don’t get our morals or ethics from religion (and the way many religious nuts act around the world act, we can count ourselves lucky). Many religious tomes are filled with dubious tales that no sane or moral person would wish to follow in this day and age (if ever).

People can do good for good’s sake as well as their own whereas many religious people can be hypocrites. I look forward to more examples of Paris doing good in the world (just her being a ray of sunshine in life is far more valuable to me personally than any invisible sky deity has ever been) but I’d like to see it because of the good and charming person she is, rather than taking her lead from ancient Bronze Age fairytales.

I agree with waymouth, and Django.

There are clearly way too many religious denominations and altercations amongst religions that make it seem manmade.

Would someone rely on an imaginary parachute before they go skydiving? or would they rely on a real parachute?

Of course they would rely on a real parachute. If someone were to say, that you had a parachute on, when in fact there was none on your back, you would think they were nuts or just kidding you.

But, religion tells people to rely on something that might be imaginary, and that might be as unreliable or dangerous as relying on an imaginary parachute.

With Paris being catholic, I seriously doubt that she’d feel tempted to sign up for the ‘born again’ movement.

Pat Boone is just out to get a little publicity, thats all there is to it.
