PETA disappointed in Paris Hilton’s decision to buy a teacup Pomeranian dog

Reported by NewsHub

On Friday, [Paris Hilton] announced that she had just purchased the “world’s smallest dog,” a miniature teacup Pomeranian. But knowing her genuine heart for furry pals, the animal rights group is disappointed in Hilton’s decision.

Breeding a “teacup” sized pooch can be extremely detrimental to the health of the animal. PETA also believes “why buy a dog when there are so many in animal shelters who need to be adopted.”

PETA’s Senior Director of Communications, Colleen O’Brien tells us in a statement, “PETA knows that Paris Hilton has a good heart and likely doesn’t realize that millions of dogs in animal shelters across the country are dying for want of a good home—or that miniature or “teacup” dogs are often so inbred that they frequently suffer from painful and even life-threatening genetic defects. We’ve written to her privately to offer to fix her up with any rescue dog she might ever want in the future and are certain that, next time, she’ll open her heart and her home to a homeless animal in need.”

I agree with PETA. Paris has a big heart and means well, and she’s adopted and rescued lots of pets in the past, so I wish if she wanted another dog, she adopt one. One should never support breeders, no matter how reputable they may seem. I hope in the future Paris avoids buying animals from breeders.

This special dog Paris fell in love with would not be available from a shelter.
But I’m quite sure her little Peter Pan came from a shelter.

It’s a sweet puppy,Paris has a short video of him on her Twitter site.
Being only 5 months he will probably double in size.
