Repo! The Genetic Opera debuts at #21 on Weekend Box Office

Repo! grossed $51,578 and positioned at #21 during the weekend Box Office.

If it were released to 2,792 theaters, it could’ve potentially earned approximatively $20,000,000 like the new movie “Role Models,” which debuted at #2 on the Box Office.

It is very shameful that this movie is only available in eight theaters with an almost total lack of serious promotion. It’s hard to believe!

Not bad for a limited release of only eight theaters. Hopefully it will expand far out like Juno or Napoleon Dynamite.

Also US Weekly which is a huge gossip magazine in America reviewed Repo! and they gave it 2 out of 4 stars and said Paris surprisingly wasn’t that half bad which translates to she was awesome because that magazine HATES her.

Also Entertainment Magazine gave Repo a D+, the review says:

“Spy Kids’ Alexa Vega plays a bedridden teen unaware that her creepily doting father spends evenings messily “repossessing” organs at the behest of a biotech mogul Sorvino. And it’s an opera. Cue Paris Hilton, industrial-rock din, spinal extrations, Victorian furnishings, soprano Sarah Brightman, and the nihilism and desaturated colors of post-Seven horror films. If steampunk bloodbaths aren’t for you, it’s a long wait for the fat lady to sing” – Sean Howe

and the US Weekly one says:
“Is this Rocky Horror Picture Show of the new millennium? In the year 2056, people’s organs start failing, and one greedy company offers to pay for transplants. The catch? Those who can’t make the high payments pay a bloody price with the Repo Man. While it may sound hideous, this sci-fi rock opera could draw cult fans due to its dark humor and macabre art direction. Watch for Paul Sorvino as an evil CEO and Paris Hilton as his daughter, a spoiled heiress. Crazily enough, she’s not half-bad! – Lisa Rosman

Both of these reviews had a picture of Paris in a black wig and a black and white dress lying down on some sofa.

Did you guys notice that the media hasn’t talked much about Repo!’s (or BFF’s) success? Maybe it’s because today is a Sunday, but I remember very well when the media (eg TMZ) was massively reporting about the Hottie’s flop. (http://www.tmz.com/2008/02/09/paris-box-office-bomber/)

Why didn’t TMZ post the numbers of Repo! on their website? Because it’s good news for Paris! Won’t entertain their readers!

They only want to report negative articles, like the reason why we barely hear about her chairty work. Most of the publics has a negative view of Paris so the media such as TMZ just like to keep feeding them that making the public believe she is what they all believe her to be. If they bring up Repo! i bet they will bring up what all the negative reviews sad, no all the fans and positive reviews that have all said Paris did a great job.

what i don’t get is why none of the other actors in the film are out promoting it. it seems like only paris is making the talk show round. whay aren’t the big names like sorvino or brightman or even darren getting their butts out there?

Just FYI: Repo! has not come to, nor is it yet scheduled, to Boston, so no local reviews. I did see “At The Movies,” a movie review show nationally syndicated in the US, and the two critics called it total garbage, one of if not the worst movies of all time. …I feel bad for Paris.

Speaking of Paris and the movies, I went to a movie that was in town last night, and I just wrote Paris to warn her about it. As an FYI to you folks:

I saw this new movie last night, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, that was pretty good. It’s written and directed by Kevin Smith. I have liked all the movies I have seen by him… Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Dogma, and especially, Clerks. And Zack is being played by happening actor, Seth Rogen.

Now in Z&M, the lead male character, the hero of the movie, Zack tries to convince his friend Miri to make a porno for money with him. To persuade her how easy it is, he says porn is all mainstream now, “…look at Paris Hilton: She’s selling fragrances to tweens, and I’m pretty sure she’s legally retarded.”

Not funny. I was insulted and hurt as a fan of you, Paris. I was mad that Smith would stoop to this low level. He reached for the lowest common denominator, and the basest instincts of the general public. Plus, it is so damn old, tired and unoriginal. I am insulted as a fan of Smith because I had thought he was better than that. I feel so bad for you, P. It’s just so lame and unfair. It is easily the meanest line in a raunchy, funny and sweet movie. It’s even in one of the fucking trailers… Zack and Miri Make a Porno – Trailer 2 (1:00 min in)

Anyway, you deserve the FYI. I think you’re so smart, a brilliant star, a true artist, and a genius business woman. You deserve respect! And love and understanding and admiration and more…

To my MySpace Top BFF!
Mike

I don’t know why the youtube address didn’t take, but it’s easy to find with just the title.

I wrote Paris by leaving a comment on her blog. On the plus side, I did tell P how great she was on Dave last week, and that how much Jailhouse Baby meant to me, and that I think My BFF should be a single. I think it could be a BIG hit. Think of all the high school and college girls and more, who would take this song to heart as an anthem among friends.

BTW, admin, I love the Repo! Banner here. Cheers!

PS Re: At the Movies -> They did not put the blame on Paris for Repo! I think they felt bad for Paris.

Finally (for now), I’m sure some would find fault, but I thought Paris looked ultra-hot at the premier.
