Sarah Silverman’s Hate Comments About Paris Hilton On MTV Movie Awards

I thought I would have to add the word “Hater” before the name “Sarah Silverman” in the title, but I decided not to, because I’m not convinced that Sarah is personally a hater of Paris. She seemed shocked by the reaction of the crazy and soulless mob.

I looked at the video several times, and I can almost say that it definitely is scripted. First of all, it’s quite a shame that MTV would allow such comments to made live on TV. That’s simply not acceptable, in my opinion.

Second, the crowd who appeared to be more hateful of Paris than Sarah should also be ashamed of themselves, but that’s not surprising because the public has no shame when it comes to rich, famous and pretty celebrities, especially someone like Paris.

However, I have to tell you I don’t feel very bad about this for two reasons.

A: To me, the comments Paris made before this incident are a lot more intelligent and richer than the scripted comments of Sarah.

B: I’m not too sure how Paris felt when she was listening to Sarah. Haters obviously are pointing out that it made her feel bad, but did it really? The first shot shows us that she is slightly smiling, but the second one either looks like she is pissed off or just wants to show that she can take it as a joke. I’m inclinded to think that her attitude is the latter.

Haters always forget that Paris never takes herself too seriously, and doesn’t always mind when people make fun of herself, but there’s a limit to this.

The video is obviously not funny and Sarah went too far. She shouldn’t have agreed to do this.

But what the hell, I feel much better after hearing Paris’ wise interview!

The media isn’t tell us if Paris Hilton left after Sarah’s speech. Does anyone know if she did?

Well.

Just read this sad, tasteless bit of show business, then I went to try to see if Paris left after Sarah’s “jokes.” I did find one picture of Paris w/Fergie backstage but not sure if it was taken during the show or not.

But then…
Very sad all around, here, & here in my head & heart. Just found out Paris is in jail right now…

— “TMZ was there when Paris Hilton turned herself in to Sheriff’s authorities Sunday night.

It didn’t go down at the jail. Paris’ mega-lawyer, Richard Hutton, picked her up at her parents’ house at 10:30 PM. Hilton, Hutton, mom Kathy and sister Nicky then drove to the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles — commonly referred to as the Twin Towers — where Paris officially surrendered to the L.A. County Sheriff to begin her 23-day sentence.

The Sheriff devised the plan of surrendering miles away from the actual where Paris will be doing time because the crush of paparazzi at the jail created a potential safety hazard.

Paris was then driven to the jail in Lynwood where she is now serving her sentence…” —

TMZ had footage of her family driving her into the jail’s garage. The last shot of Paris was of her & her mom in the backseat, crying.

Ditto here.

I will say it sounds like a very wise plan by the Sherrif’s dept for a low-key surrender.

I wish Paris only the damn best & that this time passes quickly & as painlessly as possible for her & I can’t wait till she gets out!

All right, where was I?

Let’s start w/right above me. “Kevin” & his comment. I hit on his name, found his MySpace profile, that shows he’s a 15-yr old from the state of Wash, but it’s a private site. I was just trying to make sure if this guy was hating on Paris or Sarah. W/out further evidence I would have to say it’s def hate on Paris.

Well, some loser 15-yr-old who makes a mean general comment like that w/nothing to back it up — hell, at 15 I was writing creatively by then — is not worth spending any more of my time on.

Just another self-loather. Because that’s what it is. THEY claim people who support Paris are self-loathers. I say quite the opposite. People who go out their way to hate on Paris in her time of down & out, loathe their own life, have no charity, forgiveness in them, & I’d feel sorry for them but since they cannot show that for their fellow man, fuck them. I’m saving my sympathies for Paris & her supporters. The haters are in the majority, whereas we in the minority need the support.

I agree w/you Mr. Paris Hilton Site, that if Sarah’s “joke” were not about Paris it would not have aired on MTV or have been allowed to have been told in house. HBO, yes. But on MTV, a channel for kids, hell no. But Paris is so widely hated, MTV, which has no cred left, waved any sense of decorum & decency. Just like the rest of the world has.

The joke was not funny at all. I’ve read, seen & heard some clever poking fun at Paris, but this was crass & unimaginative.

I did see some of what you say, Mr PHS, of Paris appearing to try to smile & put on a brave face. But I think Paris, at least for brief moments, looked quite saddened & hurt. Not so much by Sarah, but by the crowd’s over-the-top lame, cackling reactions to Sarah first mentioning that she’s about to go to jail, & then her jokes.

“Wow,” said Sarah @ the end. “Why do I feel dirty?” Because she was, she reached for the extreme lowest common denominator, & threw it like meat before swine.

However, about the best thing in all of this to me was the bravery it took for Paris to show. Sarah’s humor is brutal, & Paris had to know she was going to be savaged. That Paris appeared at that event & withstood all that derision from the crowd & the likes of Hollywood lowlifes like Jack Nicholson, she showed she is better than all them.

Let the haters roll on & go to hell.
I love her more than ever…

Sarah Silverman is a lame bitch. Those people who were applauding are hypocrites. I bet if you told them “whoever drove while under the influence at any time in the past 5 years to step outside” half the theater would be empty. Paris did feel hurt but she is brave and I respect that she tried to put a brave face on. By the way TMZ posted her mugshot they just took at the jail and I mus say that’s the best looking most glamorous mughshot of any celebrity I’ve seen.

I like the comment from Anonymous.
However, I would say in answer to her poll, nearly all of the people in the theater would have had to step outside.

Sarah should be shot. Paris and Lindsay are obviously going through enough as it is right now. Sarah is a jealous ugly bitch. Even if she doesn’t personally dislike Paris, she shouldn’t have said what she did nor should have mtv agreed to air these comments.
