The event will go on in Malaysia… without Paris Hilton

    Reported by the Star Malaysia

Paris Hilton’s trip to Malaysia is sponsored by Miwaki Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Paris Hilton Handbags, and Prestige Products (M) Sdn Bhd, which distributes her fragrances.

“Paris was advised to return to the United States,” said a representative for both companies.

The event will now continue without her presence. It will be held at 2.30pm tomorrow at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

Immigration director-general Datuk Abdul Rahman Othman said Hilton would have had to undergo stringent checks by authorities at the KL International Airport should she make the trip to Kuala Lumpur.

He said the Immigration Department would not ban visitors with drug offences from entering the country unless requested by police.

Should Paris offer a short public apology over what has happened? Or do you guys think this is a bad idea? This is something a few “experts” have suggested.

Hate to say it but being associated with drug possession can tarnish her brand. It’s not something that she should be associated with.

I know this won’t sit well with some fans. But it can’t possibly hurt. She can escape from this mess with a simple apology and then move on. This way, she won’t have to deal with interviewers asking her questions about it.

She has already tweeted an apology to her fans, and that’s enough for me. Plus her publicist has already issued a statement expressing Paris’s disappointment. I don’t really think the drug thing is going to tarnish her brand. Macy’s has already said Tease is still one of their top sellers. This incident is just a minor setback but eventually it’ll be forgotten and she’ll be able to move on from this chapter in her life for good (or at least I hope so).

Being banned from entering Japan just made her look worse.
I think she should still try going to Indonesia.
And I think right now she should focus on charity work, community service and rehab. That would make her look better to the public.

I think a public apology might be good. Even if it’s just a little video of her saying sorry if she’s dissapointed fans and kind of addressing the whole situation without mentioning it directly. But then again, that would just bring it all back up and maybe if would be wise for her to just keep going forward. She’ll be doing her community service soon which I know she’ll happily do and hopefully that’ll give her some positivity.

I just love Paris all the more for getting busted for what should be her own damn business. I love her for avoiding jail. I love her for being who she is and being free.

I love her all the more for being hated on by hypocrites. Everyone in the entire world has broken some law at some point in time. Yet so many still wag their fingers.

    She owes me no apology.

I say no on the public apology, at least on a personal level. Paris did nothing to endanger the public. She does not owe them a personal apology.

I am not a business expert. But IMHO as far as a professional apology, again I would say no. For her possession of cocaine has nothing to do with her brand or her businesses. If she owned a bunch of drug rehabs, then yeah, a public statement of apology might be what the doctor prescribes.

Scot brings up a good point re: the community service. IMHO, that is enough a public apology.

Paris could clean up the planet community and a lot of the world would turn around and spit on her for it. The world owes her a public apology. But haters ain’t gonna stop hating. That is what they do.

PS In fact, if she made a public apology, the hypocrite haters will only scoff and hate on her more.

    – Just do that community service with a smile, Paris. You’ll be all right. Peace and love on ya.
