The Hottie And The Nottie – To Really Be Released Nationwide?

While Paris Hilton and Regent Releasing are stating that “the Hottie and the Nottie” will be released nationwide, many movie sites such as Yahoo.com and Movie.com are still reporting that “the Hottie and the Nottie” will be a limited release. So who’s telling the truth?

I did some research about this, and I can conclude that it will neither be a wide or limited release, but a sort of “moderate” release.

According to actress Christine Lakin, the movie will debut in “10 major cities on 200 screens to start.” A true wide release is supposed to show the movie in, say, 600 theatres (I’m being generous). However, Regent Releasing is reporting that every day, more theaters are adding the film.

I think “Hottie” could be Regent Releasing’s biggest movie so far.

Noelle, a recent movie distributed by Gener8Xion Entertainment, was shown in 203 theaters in its first week, but it made less than $200 000. When popular movie Transformers (Paramount Pictures) was shown is only 360 theaters in its 15th week, it made $735,000.

However, a movie like Repo! will definitely be a true nationwide release. So like I said so many times in the past, “Hottie” needs to be promoted massively.

If “Hottie” is truly a good and smart movie, unlike “Pledge This!” and “Bottom’s Up”, two movies that didn’t deserve a theatrical release, then they can say that it deserves a nationwide release.

Hmmm, for some reason I don’t think this movie is going to be released anywhere around where I live. All the sites state that it isn’t playing around me but we’ll wait and see.

So 100% for sure Repo! is going to be a nationwide movie?

i’d like to have a worldwide release, because How can the fan outside the USA do to watch it? For example i’m obliged to download it…i think that almost nobody can wait for it…

kevin,

You know what, I also don’t think it will be released in many theaters where I live. I also wonder how many Canadian cities will play it.

Here’s the list of states and cities: http://www.regentreleasing.com/thehottieandthenottiepress/theaters.html

I don’t see Washington and Seattle.

Repo! should be a nationwide release, but it also needs to be promoted a lot because not many people have heard about it. Since it’s a major production like House of Wax (unlike “Hottie”), then it should be released nationwide. I strongly believe it will.

Paris89Hilton,

It probably won’t be released worldwide, but I’m really not sure about this. You should wait and see. If it doesn’t play in Italy, then you can download it I guess, but I’m not going to post it here. You can also buy the DVD when it gets released in May.

Pardon me folks, new topic – Season 5 Simple Life DVD.

I picked up my copy this weekend. of course I’m happy to own it, but I was a little disappointed that it’s only the 10 episodes, no outakes or extra footage. Although I heard this before, I was hopeful that since it was the last season that the producers would give us more.

By more I mean, not just outtakes and more footage from season 5, but from past seasons as well. I noticed that the opening trailers this year contained footage we never saw in any of the episodes, for example, paris and Nicole doing the prop handgun shooting or hitting the van with sledge hammers. I never knew where those scenes fit in with the aired episodes.

One other issue, when each episode originally aired, they all contained scenes that were cut in subsequemt airings to accomodate more commercials. The episodes on the season 5 DVD are the shorter versions. Waaaaah!

I know of course Paris and Nicole had a lot of personal drama to deal with last summer, so I don’t blame them, but it seems like no real effort was made by anyone else to make the season 5 DVD special. I think Bunim/Murray could have done more. I’m disappointed. Maybe we can get more footage for the Extra Paris page on this site?

Just a thought, and a wish, I guess.

juju – that is disappointing. It would have been great to get some extras or maybe a retrospective of the overall series, but they could surely at least have given full episodes instead of cut down ones. I don’t have the fifth season yet as it’s not out in the UK and the second disc of the fourth season is refusing to load in my DVD player, grrrrr!

Since season three, the production of the popular TV series The Simple Life hasn’t been taken seriously, neither by Paris and Nicole or by Bunim/Murray. But season three was at least better than season four and five. Season one and two were the best, my opinion, of course.

I have some Simple Life 5 footage, which I could use for Extra Paris. But of course, you can find them on Eonline.com, except the interviews, and I make them “downloadable”.

I’ve taken note of your wish on a notepad, juju. I don’t know if I want to do another Extra Paris, but we’ll see. I still haven’t forget about the posting problem ;). I’ll see what I can do.

BTW, if you guys want to discuss about such topics, you’re always free to open a topic on the forum, so everyone can see it.
