I have to write a midterm essay and I have to be on the road tomorrow, so this will be the last news update of July. I don’t know if the entire interview will be posted (we’ll see). But I will definitely make the effort to upload the final episode of TWATP this week.

I’ll let you guys do the analysis of this interview. I just think the reporter was rude, and not sure if it was an appropriate question to ask. There’s different ways to look at this, but that’s all I have to say at this point.

Paris was smart to call time out when the reporter started to get close to being insulting.

She showed self-confidence and good instincts. No one can say Paris is dumb in picking up on vibes and undercurrents.

Had she continued to politely answer more questions, the reporter might have become further emboldened and even ruder.

Sometimes it’s just better to go with your gut feelings and put a stop to a situation , which is exactly what she did.

I’m just going to comment on the little bit at the end, first. It makes perfect sense that when Paris watched the show she got a different perspective on her relationship. Being in a relationship, you’re in a bubble and you’re blind to a lot of things. Sure, every day people don’t get a different perspective that way, but Paris did.

Watching that old Conan interview, it made me realise once again that the stigma Paris faced early on in her career is still the exact same now. Despite the fact that Paris has had many successful ventures in many different fields, she is still belittled by these people. The whole attitude of that man interviewing Paris was very… off. He was really smug. That question was a little misdirected and really not needed. There’s some basis to the question – but really, there’s no answer. The media may pay more attention to Kim’s gimmicks and showmances, but Paris’ products still sell really well. She’s still a highly recognised, world wide celebrity. Perhaps her persona isn’t so relevant in tabloids or in the celebrity world, but look at her recent company, she is still in the IN crowd. Unlike Kim whose overly serviced face is surrounded by people wanting to up their mass market appeal (Vera Wang, I’m staring right at you). At the end of the day, their ‘similarity’ does not make them rivals or even in the same league. Paris’ brand is Paris. Kim’s brand is Kardashian. There’s actually a big difference. It sucks that Paris keeps getting these interviews with the interviewer thinking they have a chance to trash Paris. She invited him into her own home, and he’s acting above her? It’s horrible. This is my biggest peeve with The World According to Paris, that it doesn’t show things to shut these belittling assholes up. If anything, it’s given them more ammo. I hated the hosts reaction when she heard how much her perfume alone has made. I would love for Paris to stand up to these people and tell them that she is more successful in her business then they’ll ever be, but Paris isn’t like that. She’s such a kind person and yet, she never gets a chance to properly show that in these interviews because she always has to be on edge and have a wall up incase they attack her.

I hate the last bit of the interview where she is quite obviously (and badly) acting all happy and talking about the dog house. She should’ve said, “shut your damn mouth”, taken him into the office and shown him records of the money her products have made and then said, “now question my relevance.”

Well he was very rude to her but at the same time I think sometimes she brings it on herself :/
Tbh shes been doing it since she was 16 and was the orignal celeb way before Kim Kardashian but Kim is the hot new thing and its fair to say people just dont care about Paris like they used to.
BUT her products still sell well so what does it matter if kim is in more magazines or gets better ratings it will fade for her too.

Also the whole 17 product lines thing she keeps saying is BORING and the whole fake voice thing……
She say it was for the simple life,a character and she is going to show the real her, then why is she still doing the god damn baby voice lol. I dont see the problem, her baby voice is cute, and lots of people have one. I for one sound like paris’s baby voice when i’m excited/happy or even shy but when talking with friends or talking about something serious my voice changes,I dont even realise it does it.

I really think her new show has done nothing to help her either just gave the critics further reason to hate. And Paris is a nice sweet girl but I let my mum watch and episode of her new show and she said that she seems a right bitch with how she talks to her assistant and she prefers her on the simple life.Paris never seems happy with her work on the simple life:S

Anyway I love Paris and I think he was totally rude to her lol x

Yeah right, you really love Paris but you get your little digs in nevertheless under the guise of being a fan.

Her voice being high or low does not matter except to a few haters. Kim’s voice is worse.

I also think that Paris’s show is good.

Firing an assistant is nothing new. But haters are always looking for some occasion to make nasty remarks, although Paris in general behaves much more circumspectly than many others in Hollywood.

But life goes on and I guess Paris will continue to try different ventures.

Just because you are a fan, you don’t have to like everything your idol does. You can have opinions and not be a hater.

Over already.

The incident was just another blib in the 24/7 news cycle, which has now been superceded by other events.

No sense getting all worked up over anything, by the next day it’s yesterday’s news.

Paris will continue to do different projects and prosper, for many years to come.

@Jen
Getting little digs in?-So what everything Paris does to be a fan you must agree with it-jeeze thats smart lol.

If I wasnt a fan I wouldnt watch all her shows, listen to her music,go on her website,I even have a tatoo related to her on my arm and have 4 Chihuhuas so believe me I love Paris and I am a fan but I do think what the interviewer said was what a lot of people think.
I just dont see what she cares if shes not as relevant as Kim :S Paris has been famous since early 2000’s when their was no other reality stars so what does it matter is Kim is having a taste of fame now-I can bet Kim wont last as long as Paris has.

Paris is becoming a buisness women and growing up so I doubt it matters what the ratings for her show are and her fans will carry on loving her.

Also I didnt say her voice mattered! Paris makes it matter. She keeps saying its all an act and and just for the simple life and she is doesnt do it any more and she is showing the real her but she is using it on the world according to paris it just makes her look a bit like a lier. However I love her baby voice more so than her “serious” voice its cute but I wish she wouldnt keep say its and act and just embrace that she has a baby voice sometimes.

And I get firing her assistant is nothing new but she was little mean to her and her friends were. I dont get how you think I am a hater though I love her show and I love her but I can also see why some people might not like her. Her new show even though I love it doesnt really show a diffrent side to her like she said it would . xoxo

Very true Dawn.

Snippets of Platinum Blonde and Boy Oh Boy have been added to Paris’ youtube VEVO page. Does anyone know if that page is actually legit or if someones running it themselves?

From: retrograde

I don’t think it’s a legit VEVO page because it doesn’t contain ads for/links to other artists’ videos. Since it’s purely Paris, I doubt it’s anything but a fan page.

Paris is too polite.
She should have stopped the interview and kicked Dan Harris in the nuts.

An observation made by another poster in a comment section. But so true.
