Was Kim Kardashian Paris Hilton’s assistant?

It is often reported that Kim Kardashian worked as Paris Hilton’s assistant prior to becoming famous. In Touch Weekly recently published an article (6 People Who Are Totally Responsible for Kim Kardashian’s Fame) about Kim in which they state: “Kim worked as Paris’ assistant and therefore was a star by association.” But was she Paris’ assistant?
