I know that she’s mad, but that’s actually hilarious. Paris going special ops/undercover. A skeleton costume? I hope the camera footage comes out because that is funny. Then, the mgr comes back with defamation of character. Wrong tort.
She’s been quoted as saying that it’s not a big deal and it’s not like the tape is going to go away, unfortunately. Sort of a, “you can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube” deal.

Both the video and the unjust jail sentence are clearly sorespots for Paris…. understandably so.
Each time she was treated very unfairly and it hurts.
But on the upside
Paris can do charitable works closer to home
She did good work in Repo
Hottie will come out in Feb 2008 – her fans will buy the dvd The old video is water under the bridge
Paris and her life are always interesting and exciting – that’s what sets her apart from the crowd.

careful paris!
I know the tape upsets her, but she can’t just walk into a perfectly legal store and demand they take down the posters or anything else. She also can’t tear down the posters herself. She could be sued for this, not to mention rack up a criminal charge for destruction of property or threatening the store employees, etc.
That could be a probation violation and she could end up back in jail, especially with the prosecutor and judge on her case and how they’ve already exploited her.

Hilton Avoids Charges in Sex Video Case

Paris Hilton’s name has been cleared – at least when it comes to allegations that she stole a copy of her sex video.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that they won’t file charges against the Simple Life star over claims that she took a copy of her homemade sex video from a West Hollywood newsstand, the Associated Press reports.
“The evidence presented is not of such convincing force that a reasonable and objective jury would unanimously agree that the suspect is guilty,” says Irene Wakabayashi of the district attorney’s office.
On Dec. 15, Hilton, 23, had a run-in with a newsstand dealer, who was selling copies of her infamous video, “One Night in Paris.” A security video obtained by the TV show Celebrity Justice appeared to show Hilton taking the video. Gerry Castro, an employee at Swing News, said at the time that Hilton became livid after noticing the video for sale, threw 80 cents at him, grabbed the video and left without paying for it.

I think this is a fake story or video – they remembered of that other thing 3 years ago and just did it for the media attention.

the video just went up on TMZ today. It’s not really so bad, but she still needs to watch herself if this is indeed her. Just because it’s morally wrong for the store to exploit her, doesn’t make it illegal for them to sell the video, a legal product.
