Adrian Grenier: Easy Rider

Actor Adrian Grenier may get worked up over the environment, but the Entourage star is just as passionate about having a good time in Hollywood—from filming in strip clubs and bars to loving the ladies (yes, even Paris Hilton).

New York Post, Page Six, August 31, 2008, Excerpted Paris Part - ...Adrian’s now working behind the camera, too. His upcoming documentary is an as-yet-untitled look at paparazzi culture that has Tinseltown talking. In an effort to understand the frenzied celebrity scene, Adrian has done everything from befriending snappers and shooting celebs himself to hanging out with Paris Hilton to witness the shutterbug melee she endures daily.

In a classic art-imitating-life-imitating-art scenario, tabloids reported that Adrian and Paris were dating. “I have a lot of respect for Paris. She’s ballsy,” he says. “She’s learned to play with the paparazzi attention and have fun with it, and she creates little mysteries in the tabloid arena. She’s an artist painting on a different canvas. I have fun with her, but it’s always been platonic. [Our relationship] wasn’t sexual—though I understand that sex sells.”

Calling his film a “deconstruction” of media culture, Adrian says he now appreciates where the paparazzi are coming from. “They’re trying to earn a buck in a fun way. Right now this sort of exploitation is accepted and embraced by mass culture, so they’re doing what they can to feed that demand and make money. It’s not a choice that I would make because a lot of times, it’s degrading to people. But we’re all susceptible to buying into it. Tabloids can be fun. I see stuff sometimes and have a good laugh. I enjoy pointing fingers and casting stones, but ultimately, I try and balance my media diet with things that are healthy.”

You got balls yourself, Adrian. Cheers!

Respect for ballsy Paris the artist...

Loves it so much.

I like what Adrian has to say. Whatever idiot wrote the article had to spoil it with their "yes, even Paris Hilton" as if there was something wrong with her.
