I guess they'll do favors for Gibson and others but not Paris. She doesn't catch many breaks. Others get special treatment and she's treated like the spoiled celebrity. (see the end of the linked article)

I'm not even surprised. The sentence should not have been depended on that, who hates Paris and who not. It's her public image, c'mon!

It's a disgrace and confirms what we knew all along, that far from being given special treatment, Paris was given excessively harsh treatment because of her celebrity status and how people see her. As for Mel Gibson, even though I like many of his films, what he said about Jewish people on his arrest was absolutely disgusting. I don't care if he was drunk - in vino veritas: when people are drunk they give the uncensored truth as they see it, and the man is a vicious anti-semite, and I would love to see him in jail just for that. Unlike Paris, who has never in her life demonstrated prejudice towards any community or ethnic group. You can argue about the law, but in terms of justice, in these two cases there is none.
